I think vdv is going to be better than verts. He's already got better physical attributes and plays a smart game.
Might even be better than Ledley too if we can keep vdv here long enough as he has a very eye catching playing style .

Guys please! Take it easy, making it seem like we have a team of Galacticos here. I want him to be good too and he might be, but let's give the new young players some breathing room.
On the one hand, I'm glad that Micky is being praised even despite scoring a few OG's as that's IMO simply unlucky. I have been so impressed with him, but I also want to give him the allowance of a bad game here or there as he's still only 22 which is easy to forget.
I don't see many people speaking about Micky's temperament. Utterly professional, confident, and mature well beyond his years. Maybe after a full season we see some changes there but I am admiring the way he just gets on with it.

What surprised me about him after the first few games is how strong he is, he is fast and seems powerful enough not to get bullied by most of the PL.

It’s easy to get carried away with the results. Agree on the whole that we need to resist the temptation to overhype our players. I’ve noticed he doesn’t win many headers considering his size. But still only 22 as you say so he’s got plenty of time to work on it.

I actually love seeing our whole team playing with purpose and creativity. We got pressed hard, and despite that, we still played the way we wanted which hopefully got the jitters out. So to be under that increased pressure, Micky did really well today. Will keep on getting better.
