Harry Kane MBE

I don't know, but it feels like one of Harry's considerations in taking this deal vs. next season (where the financials would certainly have been better for him personally), was ensuring Spurs, his club got something out of him leaving. Combine that with not leaving to another PL club, looks like he wanted to keep his legacy intact and also help Spurs.

If that is the case, kudos to him, and a final gift ..
Exactly this.
Compare that to a certain other ex-capt that said similar things, but did something very very different.

Harry has integrity.

I hope he wins a treble (including the Champions League) this coming season. I have nothing but respect and admiration Harry Kane. Many players in his position would’ve sat out another 5 months and then signed a HUGE pre contract deal where three quarters of that €100m would’ve ended up in his bank account instead of THFCs. It is good of Harry to go now and ensure we got some funds to spend on the likes of Maddison and Van Der Ven
I hope so too
Just so it makes people realise how fudging good he is
If he can lift Bayern to be better than the teams in Europe that I currently think are better, that shows the level of the man

No, because the have the ambition and the money to win things, and they inevitably will.

There was a brief moment we were ahead of City once. We qualified for the CL in 2010, they didn't.

Then that summer they went out and bought Silva, Aguero, and a bunch of other stars regardless.

Haven't looked back since.

The reason we get battered by the media about the lack of trophies is because they know that won't change as long as ENIC is here - it's safe to bet against Spurs, we're a middling and utterly harmless club.

The reason no one dares to do it against Saudi Sportswashing Machine is because they *will* win trophies very soon - it is unsafe to bet against them, they are a powerful club with a lot of money (bloody or otherwise) and desires to win the lot.
It’s not about what they spend
It’s about how much they can afford to waste
City wasted plenty to get where they are
That’s the killer for any normal club
We can’t afford to buy a player and dump him for another and we’re rich by any clubs normal standards
Very soon it will be two countries battling for the prem title and it will be brick. I’ll stop going then and it will become a meme of itself as a contest
Once the guys from psg move on ut May become a three way battle

Will certainly depend on the draws, but I see them at least reaching the Semi-final with Kane upfront

Gonna be interesting what the final figure released is, if its released at all. Talk of it being £100m rising. Done very well if that's the case

The above will sound true to someone who only started watching football. You need to spend some time away from football then come back. You need a reality check.

The above *is* true. It's how the media works now, and has done since the advent of the Sky Premier League demolished all football history up to that point. You can recognize it or not, doesn't make it any less true.

Spurs are a safe bet to mock, because we are never going to prove anyone wrong under ENIC. It's easy clickbait for the media given our rivals (Arse, Chelsea) have massive fanbases that jump on that stuff.

Nobody's making fun of Saudi Sportswashing Machine because they are going to win the lot very soon - they are a genuine threat to the established order, unlike us. And journos don't like looking foolish.

The mental thing is it's a human being at the end of the day.

A month from now he could rupture an ACL, and spend 14 months recovering. Then selling him for 100m would look inspired. He could find his wife doesn't settle and hates it out there, which will damage his mindset and position. He could thrive and so might she, and he may score 40 goals in the bundesliga next season.

He's still a bloke though.

Got to agree with some of that ... how arsenal have got an easy ride for the last two years is beyond me and the fawning of Liverpool is just wrong

I'd say it's one and the same mate. No one gets 100% of transfers right, but City and Saudi Sportswashing Machine have the capacity to just write off anyone that doesn't work. They also have a willingness to do so. That's just part of transfer spending.

We don't have the capacity or the willingness, and the media knows it. So we are no threat, because we cannot ever get 100% of our buys right and we need that to even stand half a chance given we are operating at a massive financial disadvantage on account of our lovely owners being who they are.
