Lucas Moura

I still think Gil has a big future under a passing manager. We've seen with Sarr and Royal that Paratici definitely has an eye for players, even if it maybe takes a bit of adjustment period.
I think he'll move to Spain permanently this summer with us making a reasonably big loss on the transfer fee we paid for him. Sarr and Royal are WAY better equipped physically for the PL than Gill is.

I saw a lot of promise in those couple of appearances in January. He's got a brain as well as the execution. And the physicality thing was thrown at Modric and Eriksen in their early days too.

Didn't Arsene Wenger pass on Modric because he thought he lacked physicality? I liked the look of Gil, and I'd love to see him play with a manager who encouraged him to express himself....I do wish he had been loaned to a British team to develop here.

Whether this is true or not i don't know. But porro and perisic can play there, as can richie or even son.
Perisic is playing badly enough on his favoured side. We've seen quite often that Son is far less effective from the right. Richarlison also tends to play from the left, but agree that he would likely slot in. Porro will need several months to adapt to PL football I think. The fact that Moura was on the bench (and came on) at the weekend shows he is close to the team. I still maintain that allowing him to leave to save a couple of million quid wouldn't be a gamble worth taking when we're still playing in three competitions and may well have two games a week for a decent portion of the rest of the season.

He has a long way to go to be close to any of those players. Time will tell but I suspect he'll be playing football in Spain again next season.

His performance against Palace and game in that patch were alot more than we have seen from Moura in a season an half TBH and surely it should be about developing talent not holding on to player long past their SBD which is one of the major issues we have had in recent years

Shouldn’t be at the club, never mind on the pitch. Not his fault he’s been brick for three years but is still here.

The way I see it, he bravely took matters in to his own hands to ensure that we see more of Danjuma in coming games ie a glimpse at the 89th minute. It was a noble action of self sacrifice to satisfy fans clamouring to see our new loanee.

In seriousness, horrendous tackle which didn't help considering everyone apart from Kane was already doing their best to throw the game.

Very sad how his last season with us has turned out. On a par with Son although Son obviously hit higher heights and isn't a given for leaving in the summer.

What has Moura done this season, or last, to suggest that he would an asset in this match?

All he has done this season is come on and run around a bit. He does not score, assist or create.

Eh? It was an innocent late tackle, but he wasn't intentionally making a dirty challenge. It wasn't Moura who made the team collectively decide to sit back and call on pressure.
As much as I think Moura was a monkey for what he did, it felt like we were going to concede a goal despite him getting sent off. We were just asking for it, and we have been since Mourinho.
