Agree it was a brick show....We were having to approve all sorts of people to come in and out the red zone bubbles...
I also don't get how you go from having a top manager like Conte in the bag to being forced to appoint a man that no big club would want in Nuno? Something must've changed in terms of what the club were promising Conte versus other potential managers?

They ran out of options because they left too many spinning on a plate as we negotiated with PSG. I am also half convinced that Nuno was set up to fail by all involved from what was being said at the time

There is also an element involved which is what managers say to get jobs, its not just what the club can do for the manager, its what the managers say they can bring to the role, many claiming things that their arses maybe could not cash.

Across the views of every football fan all players and managers are viewed as a ‘prick’ by someone.

This should not be the decisive factor in choosing our new manager!

He plays brick football, Chelsea fans hated it. i just can't deal with another one of their rejects playing brick boring football - got too much going on in life these days to waste my time on a football team that's a chore to watch

Yep and during that three months they interviewed and turned down ten hag.

A monumental mistake. Who knows where we would be now if such an inexplicable error was never made.

Crazy when you think about it, I was very happy when Conte was appointed but Ten Hag and Potter were both managers more likely to build a style or pattern of play but the payback would likely have been longer, think Levy felt pressured to get a "winner" in. I think both of them will go on to show exactly why they're so highly rated.

I think new manager also needs to be looked at in combination with the DOF role, if Patrici is banned in Italy or worldwide then he likely can't stay either and it's important we get in a DOF who is aligned with the managers style and type of players they want. I mean we've spent 80m on right backs and now have 1 defensive (Royal), 1 attacking (Spence) and 1 wing back (Porro) all because of the churn and no agreement on how to build the squad to match the style.

Conte didn’t beat ten hag and potter to the job.

Fonseca did before he was binned at the last minute for Gattuso who in turn was binned after fan uproar and that was when 3rd choice Nuno got the job.

An absolutely disgraceful process of identifying and choosing managers.

Fair enough there is a bit more logical reasoning in that post than the prior one which simply said tuchel shouldn’t be appointed because he is in your view a ‘prick’.

Another known personality drain though, not sure we need our third in a row

Also is his private life not about to be exposed in some massive row with his ex wife? Can we leave scandal for a time

Having multiple options and going for the next one if the ones before are not available? Yes sounds like a stupid thing to do.

Agree we need to imo appoint Poch and if that is not possible then De Zerbi must be appointed.

If he has a big contract to pay up to release him then levy can pay this out of his own money as punishment for fudging everything up again with regards our managers.

Given it some thought, do i want another chelsea man, NO.

But i want the best man for the job. And Tuchel's name should rightly be up there in those discussions.

My preference is Poch, but i can see a case for Tuchel, even more so as he's tactically superior to Poch and can play with the players we are signing (Udogie and Porro for example in a 5 at the back as proven by Chelsea).

If he signs for 3/4 years, is it really the worst thing? i'm not so sure

He never lasts that long anywhere before falling out with players or club.

I think you're missing the point, I don't mind them taking time to get the right manager. It was clear Nuno was never the right manager or the right fit (ignoring the fact he was already unemployed throughout that 3mth search so it wasn't a question of them taking time to get the right guy in).

they had 3 months and ended up with Nuno, that stinks to high heaven of a board who absolutely had no clue what it was doing. And now they're having to do this again.

Wasn’t it the case that Levy had approached Fonseca and pretty much agreed terms but then Paratici was employed as DoF and wanted a more defensive manager so the search restarted. I think Fonseca said he was going to join. Also rumours (from @Finney Is Back I think?) that we had approached Lopetegui but he decided to stay where he was. Not saying by any means that the whole Nuno thing wasn’t a debacle but it did seem the board had made the right approaches before it all went belly-up. However I am not looking forward to a repeat.
