*** Tottenham vs Arsenal NLD OMT ***

1. We have to address our first half malaise. As noted on here before, teams look at us, see if you work hard first half you can pressure this team, turnover possession and score.

Conte has to address that first and foremost. Can we turn it to our advantage?

2. We have a decent squad.

But don't look settled. Maybe a few players out has impacted us, we don't seem to have a cohesive shape. Idk why. Sometimes we look lost positionally and too open.

3. We have to be better defensively. A commanding CB is a top priority for me. We have conceded far too many goals. Simple as that.
Seems to me that the manager has a ‘don’t lose’ game plan. When we’re behind at half time that goes out of the window and we look much better trying to play to get goals.
First 10 mins sess spaffed two crosses perisic would have put on a plate.
Both times we didn’t commit a player to getting level with their CBs so that Sessegnon could put a ball in between their GK and CBs. He had no ball on to play, with more confidence I suppose he could've held onto the ball and tried to make something happen himself (though that is excusing the poor commitment from our other attacking players to get into a decent potential goal scoring position).

What Arsenal prove is that eventually we have to stick with someone and back them over a period of time.

Sack Conte, bring in Poch doesn't matter, will still need 3/4 years and money.

Arteta was routinely finishing 8th.
We had the chance to do that with a manager who consistently achieved finishes higher than the financial resources given to his first team squad. However our chairman allowed himself to be seduced by Mourinhon and the rest is history.

Sarr was our best player imho, good cameos from harry and kulu.
I think the formation is a hindrance but its more the players in the middle than the middle itself, peh does not have the discipline to shield the defence.
You want one of our (outnumbered) midfield two to shield our back 3????

Phew…

not been on here for a while, I was so sure we would put in another horrid display, I spent the day building ikea flat pack furniture for the mrs.

had the radio on but tuned off after 2 0 with that familiar feeling of despair and despondence.

dropped a wooden panel on my toe as well and smashed up my toenail.

I dunno what to say, I guess on the bright side we’re not Everton or West Ham.

I have long said Hugo has overstayed his welcome. Need a rebuild for sure.

And another manager, even though I thought the one we have was top brass.

Im all for someone perking me up, though sadly this season is feeling like a write off.
The season isn’t anywhere near a write off yet but to ensure it doesn’t become so we need to bring in a couple of new players for the manager IMO…. Unfortunately I don’t see us doing so and if we do I suspect it will be in the last knockings of the window by which point we’ll be further off the pace.

Exactly, it's all long term until it goes badly. Say we get in a new Poch. How long before we're clamouring to sack him. We finished 4th and we're now 6th. What manager could have delivered more?

Again look at Arteta for the evidence. For seasons even arsenal fans were kicking off about 'the process' now they're clear at the top. I'm not saying Conte is the right man, but at some stage gotta put on big boy pants, weather the bad times and see what comes out the other end.

I'd rather we stick with him then start all over again then all over again in 2 years.
More than Poch?… probably nobody. If our chairman had’ve been in charge at Arsenal it’s 90% likely he would’ve sacked Arteta.

Im not sure that's it. We started today with a bit of intent first 5 mind but they destroyed us after that. It wasn't that we were sitting back necessarily but we spent the half chasing shadows. And I don't know why, Woolwich didn't do anything we wouldn't expect.

The only difference second half was that we were more aggressive and gave them less time on the ball. But its almost like we're sleeping through first halves rather than trying to play defensive for a 0-0. It's as baffling as it is unacceptable for a guy on 15m a year to be seeing the same pattern week after week.

Remember everyone was mocking United for not wanting to hire Conte and then ending up with Ten Haag (who we didn't fancy)....
Lol…. ‘We didn’t fancy’… He turned us down when the offer was a paltry transfer budget when it was clear we still needed a rebuild

Arteta is doing a fantastic job. Would we have had the patience to stick with him in similar circumstances? I have my doubts.
We sacked a man who got us 3 CL qualifications in a row via league finishes 12 games into a season and you only have your ‘doubts’? o_O

It’s 2 more league games
And ones that a new signing wouldn’t impact on in reality
What we have to do is sign players who clame will play

Ouch. Thanks for bringing that up.

NOT!
as we all have seen, we keep shooting ourselves in the foot first half and a Lloris blunder, we are a broken record

back conte this window, or the club need to put aside sack money, mind you he may not stick around anyway

THEN it's a massive rebuild coz Kane will be gone

ah well, it can only get easier after this game right ?? LOL

On to Etihad #COYS

Sack money is cheap due to his contract
Kane decides what happens for him and IMO that will be this summer when he and the club agree he can leave to united or city and united will pay the most so he goes there and people say it’s like Sheringham
We do need desperately to get more players in but we can’t panic and buy players conte won’t play
We can get in Poch or Tuchel easily and both would want the job
I don’t think either though would want to work in our current DOF structure

And sess was so scared to keep on running in case he was out of position to defend

No, he's just playing crap. He can't do the basics right and that has nothing to do with the role he's being asked. He isn't doing anything defensively, he's not even getting into the area of the pitch to help the lwb.
He's mostly further up the pitch but he is where attacks go to die.

Can't blame the mask anymore

No one here can tell me Saudi Sportswashing Machine have a better squad than us. Yet their manager is playing them on the front foot and maximising their ability. Not sure ours is
