*** Tottenham vs Arsenal NLD OMT ***

I said he is ASKED to play a regimented defensive shift. That is totally not in his skill set so he invariably fails. It has totally hindered his attacking play. Hence we get a completely ineffective footballer instead of last years Golden boot winner.
Conte has stuffed him right up.
No, he's just playing crap. He can't do the basics right and that has nothing to do with the role he's being asked. He isn't doing anything defensively, he's not even getting into the area of the pitch to help the lwb.
He's mostly further up the pitch but he is where attacks go to die.

Do you think he'd stay around for a full rebuild? Doesnt seem to be in his character
I don't know tbh i mean i think we've already made decent headway in to it and if we do well in the market by the start of next sesson we could be a lot closer to what he can work with - i can't imagine he joined thinking we weren't in a mess because it was clear to everyone at the time that we were so, why join a club in those circumstances if you're not going to see it through?

Got one on one at one point. Done a stepover and ended up nutmegging himself and backheeling it in the other direction at the same time.

Agree with you about the rebuild. The Jan and summer windows last year were decent. Adding say 5-6 players over Jan/summer this year would mean a lot of additions over 2 years and he should be able to get a decent team together from them

He doesnt come across as an elite manager at the moment. Almost feels like he's just passing the time and waiting for a bunch more bodies to have arrived. I dont see what we're getting for our £15m

He I agree he is playing crap but that has a lot to do with how he is being asked to play. He isn't a robot. At his best he played with instinct. That has been ldruven out of him. How many times do we now see him running past Kane?

He played in the same system last season and was on fire, nothing has changed and he is shocking this season. His form has nothing to do with the system.

Interesting how people see different things…. I thought Sessegnon was our most likely player to score or create a goal today…, Got in at back post twice to get goal scoring opportunities and also twice got forward into good positions on a really good overlap only for us not to commit a single person into the box properly to give him a potential ball between their keeper and defenders. By contast I don't think Doherty ever got into a single good attacking position. Doherty also had Kulu and Romero helping him out every time whereas Son and Lenglet left Sessegnon high and dry.

Same position and system as last season, when he seemed to score multiple goals in every game.

Edit: quoted before you made the same point.

He has lost pace. He can’t even do the basics and pass and that’s not just now, he has never been good at it. He has been one on one with players several times in recent weeks and hasn’t been able to beat them once. I said ages ago Son is the one we should begin to think about when is the clever/right time to sell not Kane because without his pace he really offers to be polite not much. Sadly, it is beginning to look like we are witnessing the beginning of his decline. But not to worry, I’m sure we will do the same as we did with Hugo and ensure he gets a good deal worse before we consider replacing:D…..

Totally agree.
My point being that if Sessegnon is offering more of a threat while trying to deal with a rampant Saka then you know you're in trouble. ( Son never helped Sessegnon in that regard ).
Indeed, really easy to blame Sessegnon but ignores the fact that Lenglet and (especially) Son left him high and dry…. Despite that he was still probably our player who got into the best attacking positions.

Sess was the worst player in the park. Maybe equal with Son and Lloris. Our left hand side was a disaster.

Sess gave Saka too much room for their first goal and it was the deflection off him that took Hugo by surprise. He got into ga couple of great crossing positions and stuffed them up. He was weak in the tackle and often lost out in 50'50s

His best moment was when he burst through the Arse defence but then couldn't finish - albeit Ramsdale made a good save.

He just isn't good enough.

As much as it pains me to say it we need to do exactly what Arsenal have done. Who on here laughed when they appointed Arteta? We need to appoint an upcoming manager and not sack them after losing a few games. Saudi Sportswashing Machine have Howe and Chelsea Potter(if he gets time) and they will both be backed financially. Look what Howe has done. Their squad is definately no better than ours but he has them organised and hard to beat. As said in an earlier post we have splashed 60 mil on a player that has not delivered yet. Either get the players the manager wants or get rid of him. I know its not that easy when so much cash is available to certain clubs, for example every gooner I know was certain Mudryk would join them then along come Chelsea with a 7 year contract and a big money offer.
The other thing is if we do not qualify for the CL it will be even harder to attract top players. The other thing is will players want to play under Conte if its not even certain he will be here in a few months time

He played one decent half of football against Crystal Palace…. Let’s not make out that he is anywhere near good enough to be starting for a team with designs on a top 4 finish!
No different to Sarr, in fact he’d shown more than Sarr overall up until today (very happy with Sarr though). And he would have been way more useful than Son, but of course that would require our world class manager actually thinking about doing something different…..
