The Limp Struggle to Sneak into the top 4 2021/22

Fyi points per game with skipp starting for spurs was 2.2 this season. If we can get him back it would be great.
Will be great to see him back. I'd have him in ahead of Hojbjerg every game. My fear though is he may not be the same, at least not for a while. Kind of thing that happens too often after a long lay off.

The nature of his injury was that he had to have complete rest. So it will take time for him to get his fitness levels back. Let alone match sharpness. Hopefully by the end of the season he can help out though.

I think at this stage of their careers Hojbjerg is the better player. I think that Hojbjerg tends to be quite underrated by many Spurs fans and him and Bentancur have created a good partnership.

Just read on the bootroom (?) that according to football london reggie pulled up in training on thursday and could be out.

Nothing in the team news about him so hopefully he is okay but this could be one of those where we see the team tomorrow and are left wondering where the hell is he.

Let’s hope that’s not the case! Could be wrong but I imagine if Reggie is out we’d see Davies shifted to LWB and Sanchez come in to the back three.

Of course we have to work with what we’ve got but the above changes might not be pretty ..

Contes interview yesterday he didn't mention it.

Hopefully that shows its nothing of note which the article admits could be the case, but there are these occasions now and again where someone isn't mentioned as being out in the team news and then suddenly they are completely missing on the match day. Usually its an illness though in the intervening days.

Will be a huge blow if he is missing as Sessegnon is also out. Doherty will switch to lwb and Emerson at rwb which really weakens us and that relationship Doherty is building with Kulusevski.

If Reggie is out, I would play Bergwyn at LW/ LWB. He virtually played there under Mourinho anyway.

Why Sanchez?
Why not rodon?

That is an intriguing idea, even though I’m not fond of having someone right-footed playing in the LWB position. Could potentially work as long as we compensate for the downsides system wise.

He played on the left a lot defensively under Mourinho. We can anticipate Saudi Sportswashing Machine sitting back and we will need more attackers on the pitch.

I was predicting what would happen rather than what should happen, apologies if that wasn’t clear. History (also known as “things that have happened”) suggests Sanchez is above Rodon in the pecking order.
Yeah
I was using after an opinion
id Day Sanchez causes more changes for us as he can’t play left side
Rodon can and played there in the championship

If I don’t understand what you’re trying to say my response will be based on presumptions.

I’d be happy to see Rodon get some game time though. Your mention of Sanchez being unable to play left side brought a wry smile as it seems to suggest he can effectively play centre CB or RCB.

I don’t think he can play effectively at this level
It’s why I dont think the common assumption he will fill in may be true
I think before when he played rodon was out injured
But of course I can be wrong
But when he has played left side… he has been like an pub player

Awful visions of the Mura game, please please no.

Win next week and its definitely on. Pretty sure we wont get any joy at Anfield, so we cant really afford a loss anywhere else

Just need Chelsea to beat Arse, us to beat Arse, and us to at least match Arse across all other results. Certainly very doable, even if we’re still the outsiders.
