Oliver Skipp

The lad has grabbed his opportunity with both hands, and legs, since coming back on loan from Norwich, where he is sorely missed.

His consistency is vital and shows he is a reliable and high level player, congrats to him, and Thank GHod for us :)

Just need to get rid of Hojberg next to him and get a deep lying playmaker in.
Agreed
Hojdjberg was poor midweek IMO even with his good play for his assist. Their chance in the second half for bowen was because skipp pressed abs Hojdjberg was static

I feel people rate him because he shows desire but i do not think the ability is there. He stops and complains constantly even if the other team are attacking and he really doesn’t do much without the ball, i have never seen a central midfielder be ran past so easily.

I think he can play a higher pressing role further up the pitch like kante does
It’s how and where he plays for Denmark
Deeper he doesn’t press close enough and can’t pass in a way we need

Another very solid performance in the bank.

Great to heve a player that young in that role putting in consistent performances like this. Never looks out of place.

I think he has a huge amount of improving to do on the ball. Has a heavy touch and turns over possession too easily. Still young so has a chance of being good enough for where we want to be but has a lot of work to do to get there. If I was scouting him for a footballing team I’d recommend they passed based on ability on the ball.

Care to elaborate more on your last sentence?
I’m interested in what you mean

Think he is showing a lot more on the ball in the last few games and getting involved more further forward when he can.
He turns over possession occasionally, which is something to be expected from a 21 year old. I'd be a lot more concerned at the rate that PEH turns the ball over which is a lot worse than Skipp.

Glad you ain't a scout for us, they're bad enough as it is:p

It was the match against Arsenal that I realised how bad his positioning and recovery was.
His positioning is very good and way ahead of most his age. Against Arsenal it was the first half that we were wide open and went 3-0 down. Skipp came on at halftime and the midfield was more solid.
