Nuno Espírito Santo - Sacked

There's a narrative around Mason too that I think is unfair - i.e. that he plays his mates. Ndombele played the first game under him and put in one of the worst displays I've seen in recent memory. Not just in brickness but he didn't try a leg v Southampton. He was rightly dropped for the final. Like you say, Mason played GLC over Alli which gets forgotten about.
He picked Winks for the final. Winks has been awful for 3 years, one bad performance from Ndombele (who was playing reasonably well at that point) should not mean that Winks gets selected again when he's been just as bad, consistently. That's why it was seen as games for the mates.

It's a bit unfair for that one decision. And the case against Winks may be overstated. Hes been poor for a while granted and he never pushed on after early promise. But he was widely regarded as our best player in the CL final and he was regularly in the England squad up to 6 months before the League Cup final. It wasn't that bad a decision for me.

Given all the speculation, its hard to see how Nuno has any credibility left with the players. Therefore I don't see any basis for delaying the inevitable. Needs to go today/tomorrow

I'm sure it's already been decided - the meeting will be about succession planning too, the Levy will have to talk to Nuno

He definitely hasn’t been killing it in the last 5 years. Not backing Poch, bringing in Jose, sacking Jose the week before a cup final, taking circa 2-3 months to replace him, appointing Nuno. It’s a catalogue of errors which would get a manager sacked.

The hypothesis was that he’d have been in a world where the money doped clubs didn’t exist, as every other industry sees making massive losses every year as a bad thing, rather than ambition.

I wish it was more important that the players had credibility with the manager.

its never the players…. Well for some it isn’t at least

Sorry to labour the point but apparently our players are bottom of the league for distance covered....that is an absolute disgrace!!

that’s the most meaningful stat as it demonstrates effort and willing. It’s grim hearing that and it’s actually so obvious when you watch us play

Well yes but that’s not the world we live in. It’s rather an idealistic way of looking at things. Bit like saying I’d win the F1 championship in my Kia Ceed if only for Ferrari, Mercedes and all those other better car companies out there. We don’t need to be a doped club to avoid consistently picking the wrong managers, taking forever to find their replacement and so on do we……

But the influence of the doped clubs effects results achieved by said managers.

I’m no spring chicken and have never felt so despondent with respect to the club, as a whole.
When a manager/coach gets sacked, as unpleasant as it is..it’s normally at a point where it’s best for all concerned. Previously, I’ve conned myself into thinking there’s an opportunity to get someone in, and move us forward. A relief, some hope. It happened with Poch, but then it went T1ts up, for a variety of reasons.
When the inevitable axe falls on Nuno, I don’t have that hope, whoever we get in. Should I just put on a Smiths CD.. great band joking aside… or can someone give me some hope?

We have picked managers that are well past it (Jose) and managers whose philosophy and style of play is at direct odds with our DNA and culture (Jose and Nuno). We went after two negative managers in a row, one of which can barely get his side to muster a shot in target let alone score. And once again, we took MONTHS to replace Jose and what has to be the most embarrassing managerial search in PL history. Money doped clubs didn’t have any effect on either of those decisions. West Ham and Man United aren’t money doped and we didn’t score or barely create anything against either side. A United side that got pumped 5-0 at home less than a week before.

Lol at all the drama queens. I do understand it. I think there was an end of an era thing, where we had been on a fun roller coaster that had been ticking upwards. Now we are feeling the slump. But anyone would think we'd just got relegated. We were twice, fans didn't just walk away then.
