Nuno Espírito Santo - Sacked

All our players are ballplayers. For 2 years coaches have been trying to get us to do a low block and a hoof and chase and its just never got close to working. Our squad is built for a passing game. We'd need a lot more athletes and sprinters replacing our technical players to make counterattacking work

Ball players that struggle with the ball?

The slightest bit of pressure and they lose the ball.

Dier is actually better in a high line than a low block (where his concentration lapses matter more). Sanchez is a high line specialist, and we have Tanganga too - either could partner Romero

Sanchez a highline specialist? Did you see what happened to him when City broke our lines last season with gundogan? Oh yeah you didn't watch or follow spurs under mourinho.

We don't have a midfielder who can pass the ball consistently, never mind a whole squad. We never even passed the ball that well under Prime Poch, any time we were get team with the ball trying to break down the opposition we struggled. What we did do is move between the thirds with pace and and directness when we had space and we had the Dane and Dembele.

The only real possession based team in the league is City, cause they can afford to have the best players in each position. Liverpool and Chelsea have repeatedly shown that you don't need possession to succeed.

What do people make of Lucien Favre? If we're now fishing in the same pool as Saudi Sportswashing Machine. I don't really ever watch German football

What do you think Paratici should do?
I am probably wrong here, but Paratici spent a long time at Juventus he must of picked up a thing or two. I know he is not the manager but I would expect someone with his experience to offer some advice. At least point out tactical errors, I don't won't to put more fuel on the fire but shouldn't the two work together? Maybe I am misunderstanding his role, but clearly he is passionate about the game, where as Nuno just looks lost. When there were no fans due to covid apparently he was often seen yelling at the players, I don't go to many matches but does he still do that?

The two should be working together on transfers. But the idea of the DoF pointing out what he sees as tactical errors to the coach is ridiculous:D…..

If Nuno does go, Levy and Paratici should hold their hands up. They appointed a defensive manager and asked him to play attacking football with a squad that only has 2 players capable of putting the ball in the net regularly.

It actually baffles me the football side of the club.
the goal thing is 100% the biggest issue
There are literally not enough players who can make a goal contribution there
It’s scary

What comments were they?
He was talking about not enough effort on the pitch, then stopped himself and "I better not say too much".
I'm hindsight I'd say that was about the senior management talking to the players re; Nuno.
Does make you wonder if some people's performance was deliberately poor

At best he'll likely be gone in the summer, I think there's more to this than just Nuno and Levy has a lot to answer for and some of the players need to stand up and start putting some effort in. It was obvious he wasn't first choice and I think he and the players know it. He's been asked to play a different way to his usual style and the squad doesn't have the players to play that way anyway.

It's not a bad squad, missing in certain areas and lightweight in backup up to for example but there's no pattern to the play or even signs of one forming.

Realistically it's probably better for all parties to part ways, I just don't see any signs of things reversing.
