Next Manager?

How many were actually playing well towards Pochettinos final months? I think its easy to go with the narrative as pointed out by yourself.

How has Skipp Foyth or Sessegnon excelled under Mourinho when they were not even under his management?

Not many, but the fatigue bump became a major confidence/conditioning/tactical decline for all of them afterwards

The second point is exactly the point. The players in our squad who progressed in the last year are the three who were in the hands of better coaches.

You had previously pointed out your dislike for him having managed chelsea if im correct. apologies if im wrong.

Not me, I barely remember him at Chelsea (but that's an age thing) tbh.
Not bothered about where they have been before if they are good enough.
Nothing that's been released by the club adds up to Conte for me.
So get your money on Conte :)

I would be happy if Conte came in, as long as him or any other manager is actually going to be backed by Levy otherwise it really doesnt matter who we bring in.

Conte for me fits the bill, a winner, has had success everywhere he has been without the Mourinho circus that some dislike. If it is the case, over to you Daniel, back him or dont hire him.

Conte doesn't really fit in with the end of season message that Levy gave about using homegrown players and playing attacking, entertaining football.

Opportunistic

- 4 weeks ago, why would he be on the radar? he was lining up a league win, all good.

Something (if it is true) changed and has made him available, if so, due diligence alone would say the club needs to look at him.

We were unlucky that Conte was Chelsea manager that season. If he weren’t I’m convinced our 86 pts would’ve been enough to win the league.

I still blame Arsenal for that season.

Chelsea had only won I think 2 of their first 5 games that season culminating in a 3-0 thumping at The Emirates. It was after that game that Conte changed to a back 3 system and they won their next 12 games on the spin creating a gap at the top that nobody could close.

At least that's how I remember it but my memory is brick.

I must be honest and say that since this thread has been going i have looked at all the managers mentioned and seen no one who excites me. Now Conte is being mentioned i feel more like he is the man who COULD be just what we are looking for. I get that he is ex Chelski but i want a manger to kick some arses of the deadbeats that have been killing our way forward under the last 3 managers.

He seems like he is the one to do it.

I remember them playing good football. The year they won the league under him we were top scorers and they were only one goal behind.

I don’t see why he wouldn’t want to play the likes of Skipp, Tanganga perhaps in a back 3 etc At Chelsea it’s a different ball game with no real emphasis on home grown development but doesn’t mean he wouldn’t here as we clearly operate differently.....

Wasn't them but I asked them after and he confirmed. That guy was one who told me Harry was being sacked months before.

I've been contracted by the premier league for 3 months so I'm comfortable with this source.

Apparently club want a manager who will play 3 at back because they feel that's where our resources lean towards especially at wing back and the centre halves we have.

Thanks, well i guess it will be interesting to see if it indeed does happen.
I have to say i was warming more to the idea of Lopetegui though...

Despite Conte's success at Juventus, there were indications that his departure from the club in May 2014 was not as amicable as had been portrayed, with observers pointing to a comment he made in the immediate aftermath of the club's 2014 title success. When asked what plans were in place for the following season Conte responded, "Well, you cannot go to eat at a €100 restaurant with just €10 in your pocket, can you?", which was interpreted as a veiled criticism of the lack of funds made available for transfers by the Juventus executive.

This should end well.

Wait what? Apart from Regi.... who out of the Cbs or wing backs is someone seen as a resource?

Unless they mean a resource of comical defending.

Weird statement huh? I suppose you could say Reggie and Doherty are better suited as wing backs just because they are not great defensively, but in the same way you could say we should play 3 at the back because all of our CBs are not good in a two, Because they are not great defensively!

We don't need an arse kicker we need a rebuilder

Not for us to judge but Sess and Reggie are. Imagine they see Rodon, Sanchez (based on investment) and Dier as a 3 and then Aurier who is better going forward. But that's just a guess on my part but it's not totally against form that Levy picks things based on current playing assets. Didn't wanna sell Dele or Ndombele and was driving force for Bale. He has his own ideas

Good point, maybe i should have said he needs to kick s ome of those deadbeats out of the club instead of trying to get a song out of them. Lets remember that s ome of them have let down two managers ( three if you count Mason)

Sess, Reguilon, Doherty (might be given benefit if 3 at back), Aurier if he stays, Davies, Rodon, Toby all would like fit in.

Dier and Sanchez for me need to be sold regardless of manager or system
