Harry Kane MBE

We know Kane's camp is saying he "believes he has a gentleman's agreement" to leave this summer. Given the phrasing of that, I suspect it's not quite so clear cut. I can't imagine Levy being so definitive to make an agreement that he can leave in a year, but I can imagine a conversation ending along the lines of 'give Mourinho next season and we'll see where things are after that."
But yes, if he is to go, then the sooner it's sorted the better. But that's dependent on a club coming up with the right figure, which might take some time.

That interview was anything but gentlemanly, he's had his head turned and is starting a pr war in public before even notifying the club.
The more I see of this situation the more disappointed I get.

Two guys who played for clubs who prioritise winning things over everything else so that they don't have tinkle weak squads that mean they can properly compete right to the end of the season.
Two clubs that are at the very top of the food chain, a chain we tried to climb to help us compete and Harry Kane said was the wrong thing to do.

This is going to be a long and painful summer with Levy waiting until the last day of the window. Gonna be hard not to resent Kane at times but ultimately he deserves better. Think we’re gonna have at least a season hangover after losing him.

What's he done to deserve better?
He played with a world cup winning goalkeeper, the best centre back pairing in the country, two very good Fb, Wanyama, an on fire Eriksen, dele and son.
Anyone would be delighted to play in that team, and we won squat, nothing, fudge all.
He isn't an innocent party in all this, yes spurs failed, but so has he.

Hopefully. Would take the number of potential buyers for Kane down to 1

Haaland is joining real madrid in summer 2022 with mbappe joining real madrid this summer.

Both deals have already been agreed and will be announced in due course.

City and psg are aiming for either kane or lukaku.

To psg the price for kane should be £150m and the price to city should be £200m.

To PSG it should be Kane for £150m our manager back and free pick of two players. the price to City would be in exchange for their owners.

Will keep coming back to the same point from my side. Kane owes us nothing.

Kane signed his last contract what, 2018?

From a footballing standpoint, has the club made the inroads after finishing consecutively in Top 4 finishes to improve the team since 2018?

I'll give you a clue: Eric Dier is out first choice CB...
Indeed.... The direction from the top has been extremely poor since Harry signed that last contract. Starting with not strengthening for 3 whole windows, then sacking a manager after he was finally allowed to spend but before he got a chance to use his 3 (which really needed to be 4 or 6 after our close to 2 years of inaction) new players, then appointing a manager who was the pretty much opposite of the previous manager so that the new players we had just signed were unlikely to be suited to the new manager's style, then not getting that new manager some of the essential pieces that he wanted but still giving him money to spend, only to then sack a second manager when he was maybe a third or half way through his own rebuild. I expect we'll now go and get another manager with a completely different style, who may or may not have use for the previous manager's signings. Now that's what I call a winning strategy!

Indeed.... and then when the manager who had got us to the cusp wanted players like Mane and Wjinaldum to get us over the club the club cheaped out and wouldn't pay the wage or the transfer fee so we instead allowed a direct rival to strengthen at our expense. Harry Kane deserves to spend a few years of his club career playing for a team that prioritises winning things. He has one last opportunity to do that. I don't blame him for doing everything he can to ensure that it happens.

The price will be whatever those two clubs are prepared to pay. If they get into a bidding war then we could see the price get above £120m. If only one of them comes in for him then I think we'll see somewhere between £100m and £120m. I just hope that Levy doesn't go to the last knockings of the window and actually buys before he sells on this one.

So it's OK for Harry Kane to destabilise the club so that he can win things?
You're happy with that?
We gave him chances, he didn't take them.

I'm not sure i like the way he's leaked his desire to the press and the timing. Has probably seen what it's like to go along with Levy and whatever 'gentleman's agreements' are usually in place when a player wants to leave. Eriksen waited until after the CL final but Kane might have looked at how that played out long and slowly and thought, no i want it done as quickly as possible and for possible suitors to know the deal and get it done quickly etc.

The fact that it is destabling us in this way is more a reflection of what a sh!t-show we've become since Poch's 'be brave' proclaimations...

You sound like United when after Sancho (they have to accept, no we don't)

There is zero fudging chance we sell Kane this summer for less than £120M, zero, bet your house on it.

There's zero chance that we'll sell him for less than a world record fee and no one can afford that. The sums don't add up for us to sell him for less and Levy cannot afford to upset the fans further.

Well if Harry Kane is the player he's claiming to be it should be double that.

And Harry saying £100m and Richards saying £100m makes me think that's what City have told him they are prepared to pay. So he won't be going to city.

History tell us that he gets bent over and sells when the big boys come knocking with the big boys being the ones who get what they want, not us. With Berbatov we got the terrible appeasement of Frazier Campbell on loan (without even an option to buy). With Kyle Walker we didn't even manage to get Emirates Marketing Project youth player Jayden Sancho included in the deal who our manager really wanted. With Gareth Bale the appeasement measure of a 'special relationship' was peddled. I prefer to look at history as a guide to the future.

I wouldn't bet my house on anything that involved Daniel Levy doing a deal for Spurs....
