RE : Daniel Levy

Info : Have heard that due to his wife's illness, Daniel Levy is considering some time out from the club. Up to a year.

This is what I heard.....and sheds more light on why Harry was a gonner when he gobbed off in the press about a new deal......Levy has buried his mum and his wife is very ill.......straw that broke the camels back when they disliked eachother anyway

I would think that Sig is more likely to be Modric's replacement than Oscar

Neither should be a Modric replacement imo. Sig looks to be at his best just behind the striker or at the very least very advanced in midfield and no way we would give a 20 year old small Brazilian kid the kind of defensive responsibility Modric has had in central midfield. Huddlestone/Moutinho/Sahin/someone else would be his replacement IF he goes in my opinion.

Whats happening with Lennons contract? I think he signed a new 5 yr one in 2009 and generally we dont let first team players enter their last 2 years of a contract.

If he leaves, thats exactly the kind of deal I want for him. Could probably get more from City and maybe even United, but keeping him out of England should give teams like Madrid a discount

Chelsea offered £40 million balls out on the final day of the transfer window.....and he had a year more on his deal.

£35 million would be OUTSTANDING business and a non-EPL team would be superb.

Was this ever confirmed that it was a £40m bid? I only ever saw that as paper talk....

What bid was ever confirmed?

There was widespread reports of £40 million on 31st August

Yeah that's what I mean - REPORTS of a £40m bid. What I'm saying is do we know that it was actually £40m or was it just the papers making up a figure? I don't doubt that they made a bid, just questioning the figure....
