American politics

Great read thanks for sharing.

Ultimately i have little to no time for her. If people weren't fussed when Police were killing Breonna Taylor in her own home, then i don't want to hear brick about this lady getting shot as she was breaking and entering the US Capitol building.
She's fast achieving martyrdom status among the loons now.

Yes! Exactly this. Why oh why isn't this man the next President of the US. Damn. Ted Cruz or whichever nutcase is next need to know the score.

Andrew Yang would have been my choice. He’s one of the few Democrats that has the balls to go on Fox News regularly. You’re not going to change their minds unless you try and get inside their echo chamber.

I don't know anything about the planning of it, so can't comment on that regard.

I certainly didn't know they were planning it, so it happened well outside of my tiny part of social media knowledge. The whole world knew BLM protests would be happening there because selfie-stick socialism doesn't work without an audience.

There were more selfie-sticks on Wed than at any other protest I have seen.

I absolutely believe Trump is racist.

With regard to my earlier statements on him today, I don't think he would let those beliefs interrupt him amassing money and power for his family, given a choice between the two.

Edit:
I don't think the examples negate my point about polite society being free of racism.

Neither the rednecks you mentioned nor Trump would ever find themselves at a dinner table with those I know - not even from the position of POTUS.

He (motivated by Farage and Bannon) saw the money to be made in direct racism. As for dinner, you underestimate these people. I'll bet before Wed, Josh Hawley might've at least got seated for starters, and Kushner too if you didn't know what we know about him.

A while back, I shpieled a bit about how the both Democrat and Republican parties are facing inner turmoil and headed for the possibility of inner divisions creating splits from within. This is certainly bound to be the case with Trump family interests and mainstream Republicans. The Trumps have grifted moren than $200 million in donations since losing the election and will set out to get their extremist candidates elected in states where they have strong support.

Mainstream Republicans will now look to long-term financial supporters like the Kcoch Bros and the National Association of Manufacturers to create a war chest to either fend off Trump family members using the Republican platform for election or to battle them as a third party in upcoming election.

The likelihood of a third, extreme right-wing party being formed is growing rapidly, given the deep unrest displayed by the lunatic fringe that assaulted the Capitol buildings. There's also the toadlicking lunatic fringe media entities that Trump is endorsing and possibly providing financial support to. If not seeking outright control over.

Within the Democrats, there's a growing unrest amongst the most left-wing aspects of the party that Biden isn't doing enough to satisfy their demands. However, Biden and his more centrist sympathizers have earned a bit of leeway given that they've beaten back a looming dictatorship that would have crushed all perceived left wing-liberal opposition in years to come. With Biden's victory came the retention of the House majority and the acquisition of the slimmest majorities in the Senate, the Democrats can have fairly smooth waters to pass their policies over the next two years, until Congressional mid-term elections come up in two years.

They have two years to consolidate what they've won while the Republicans and right wingers thrash out their respective situations. One can only hope that the ardent left-wing factions of the Democrat party can just stay cool through all this and look to make reasonable gains on their demands. Because it will only happen if the Democrats work together as a complete unit. If they become strident, they will never accomplish their goals and only serve to divide the party and make the next presidential election in four years a complete schitshow.

I’m trying to understand why so many Americans believe a) anything that Trump says and nothing that anyone else says, and b) conspiracy theories about Satan worshippers and pedophiles. What is it about these people and/or their life experiences that make them believe these things? Can anyone link to some good articles that genuinely try to understand this?

It really is mind boggling. Especially when I see that some of those who believe in QAnon nonsense aren’t the uneducated but medical doctors!
