OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Brentford

As we are kings of cup semi finals, I assume no one is nervous?

We have a manager renowned for winning trophies and particularly this one, we have got the best draw we could have gotten, it's a one legged semi final that gives us a massive advantage as we're on our own patch. Everything is stacked in our favour...

I haven't been this confident since we played a bankrupt, freefalling Portsmouth side in the FA Cup semi final in 2010. Couldn't see any way we'd lose that game. Can't see any way we lose this.

We all know how this ends don't we?

Why did you have to do this?
Unspoken fears are best left...unspoken.

You missed out injury hit and team we beat with ease couple of weeks before to the portmouth part

Would be a Poch-type of move to pick Hart. Can't imagine Mourinho doing it at this stage.

Well Mourinho picked Vorm against Norwich in last year's FA Cup and we all know how that worked out. Hopefully he won't make the same mistake again

True - A rare sentimental pick by Mourinho?! Think I’d still rather Vorm than Hart though!

Just seen that Brentford are currently on an unbeaten run of 16 games in all competitions.

No way this is going to be a pushover.
This. They're a good side who play good football, from what little I've seen anyway.

Needs to be close to our first XI tonight. Get Sonny and Kane running at them, then they can put their feet up for the next week or so.

This x 2
Their a very good well managed side
They should have gone up but they do have a habit of crumbling in their big games
They may have learned but we will see
Toney is a good forward too

It was an early round cup game where all managers tend to rotate

Think it was Vorm over Gazza as well and Hugo wasn't available. And Gazza had made a few mistakes in the weeks beforehand IIRC.

If he'd played Hart in every game so far, I'd say there was a slight possibility he might play him tonight. Hugo played at Stoke. Barring him losing a limb, Hugo will be playing tonight.

They've knocked out Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Southampton and West Brom from the PL so far on their run and will no doubt be full of confidence - i expect a tough game from them

Hope we take this game as serious as if we were playing a top team, Brentford are a very good side who as other have said have beaten 3 Prem teams to get here. On top of that they have a game in hand over the top teams in their Lge and if they win it they go second.

Wembley beckons but we will have to play well.

...and we can send our reserves out on Saturday and give most of tonight's starter a week's break before Villa

I always am more fearful of a team full of confidence top of the Championship than taking on mid tier Prem teams. They are full of beans. They wont sit on us, its not their style. We have to play our full team and then rest some of them for the Marine game.

Lets see if the game goes ahead. Starting to have fear of the season going off again with all the covid cases.
