I don't know how to use the like button and anyone who has played the game would understand that.

I've never jumped with my arm out stretched like that and i doubt anyone else has either - he turns his head as the ball goes past him and that's when his arm shoots out as he's lost control.

Anyway - lots of good performances today. I thought Højbjerg had a blinder - was all over the pitch! Lo Celso seemed to be the catalyst to get our forward play going, always being available in those small pockets for a pass - he's a little gem, that man. Toss up between Højbjerg and Lo Celso as MOM for me @milo. Winks had his first good game for ages, I thought. Doherty impresses me down the right, his one two's are excellent, and he's so speedy and agile for a big bloke. Looks to be a very very sound piece of business. Kane was immense in the first half - faded a bit in the second half, but did a great job overall. Also - shoutout to Bergwijn, he always gives 400%, did a lot of good stuff in his short cameo, I thought, unlucky that some of the things he tried didn't come off. Lucas also worked tirelessly and had lots of nice touch and goes and turns. However - Bale up front istead of Lucas, Reguilon on the LB instead of Davies, and another hard as rock CB in instead of Sanchez or Dier, and we're going to look much stronger going forward.

Lots of positives today. It's always brick when you lose points like this, but it's still early days, it's psychologically better to lose those points now rather than later in the season.

Plus two really sharp flicked passes from Ndombele to break the lines as well.

Did Hugo touch the ball, in play, with his hands?

I can only remember him touching it twice, both with his feet.

  • Karl Darlow's 11 saves in this game was the most by a Saudi Sportswashing Machine goalkeeper in a Premier League match since Tim Krul made 14 against Tottenham in November 2013.
To be fair, they were mostly tame shots straight at him. IIRC Krul was just unbeatable that day

Idk the double save from Kane, the LeCelco feee kick were not easy saves. We could have had 5 goals in the first half alone.

Can anyone explain to me why we bought Bergwyn? He doesn’t have the pace of Lennon, Son or Lucas, he seemingly doesn’t have the ability to beat a man like a Bale, Waddle or Ginola, he constantly goes backwards , he doesn’t run in behind like Son or Dele and offers nothing that our existing wide players like Son, Lucas, Lamela, Sissoko, Sessegnon or Dele already provided.

His signing was a mystery to me at the time given our obvious weaknesses elsewhere, and since his debut goal against City, I have seen nothing from him to convince me. When he came on our attacking play was extremely muted.

Is he another in a long list of duff wingers we have bought?

Lots to be positive about after today, especially when the everton game threatened to be the start of a return to Poch’s last year in charge.

I think our season can really take off after the international break with the return of Son and Bale and having the new left back up to speed AND of course getting this ridiculous amount of games over the next week out of the way.

I like him. He's got an x-factor. Clever player, he makes a lot of good runs off the ball, he never plays it safe, he's strong as a bull, pretty quick, technical, his crossing is good as well. He's just not playing much. I'd have him starting in front of Lucas any day of the week, as I think he's got way more of a footballing brain, and contributes more to the team overall than Lucas (although, to be fair, Lucas was very good today!).

Just seen the incident for the first time. Am I the only one who thinks it probably deserves to be a pen...?!

Dier’s arm is flailing as he’s coming down, it’s not like he was using it to jump.

you are not the only one. But it’s just you and the effing ref.
