Transfer thread

But anyway, it really doesn’t matter. I like Zaha, but never in a million years are we just going to swap Moura for Zaha without having to lay out a huge amount.

moura has 10 goals and 1 assist in 2 seasons PL

Zaha has 20 goals and 7 assists in the PL

Moura has 12 PL goals since he’s been here - 1 hattrick and a brace is included in that from memory

This most recent PL season:
Moura played 30, goals 4, assists 2

Zaha played 34, goals 4, assists 3

but like I say it really doesn’t matter, never in a million years are we just swapping one for the other.

I could see us going into next season with the following options at the back:

RB: New Guy + Foyth
CB, Dier, Sanchez, Toby, Tanganga
LB: Davies + Cirkin (and Sessegnon)

If we get a DM and RB of the right quality, and also bring in a back-up CF, then I think thats an acceptable and realistic window for this summer and consistent with Jose's comment about 2-3 additions.

Could roughly balance the books with Rose, KWP, CCV, Aurier, Moura or Lamela and perhaps Sissoko leaving (plus Verts and Vorm), so I think its plausible financially too
if we do that then I can’t see us being top 6, let alone top 4

Ideally our first team needs 4 new players... a new DM, RB, CH & LB. The LB could be Sessegnon though.

Personally I’d like to see us move on Ndombele and Moura this summer as well as the likes of Rose, Foyth and KWP and use them to fund some already good enough young talent like Castagne, Soumare and Eze as well as Sarr on a free or RKoch if we can’t attract Sarr. We’d then have the basis of a good young squad. A player like Muriqi to give number 9 cover and the squad would be in really decent shape.

He is an excellent player but we can’t be spending upwards of £40m on that position when we have so many more pressing problems to fix.
I guess it depends how much we have to spend and who we sell
You could sell Lamela and Moura and fund a big chunk of zaha
But as I said it’s only a guy feeling I have

sarr?
I agree with all of these by the way although we also have Cirkin coming through at LB (no idea how good)

I’d rather put those funds towards a younger player like Eze and a backup CF like Muriqi.
Yeah I’d like that
I assume you mean Sarr the French CB?
I’ve never seen him play
I do think having a true striker as an alternative would help massively and Eze IMO looks a real player

What's the hype around Eze? I've heard him come up several times in this thread, and nothing about his game really impresses me - am I missing something?

He is 2 footed, can run with the ball really well and has a cracking shot and pass. What’s not to like
To me he is a cross between Huddlestone (passing), Dele (finishing) and. Zaha (running)
he would need to step up of course but we have seen plenty do that before given the chance

And that's exactly who we should be targeting. Remember close season people touting McGinn over Grealish because he had better numbers or something. But what was evident to me was that Grealish had the tools to go up a level. I think he's shown that this year in a very poor team. He's held his own against better players and would go up again in a better team.

Back to Eze....When I had a look at him last season he looked like he had the Eriksen passing potential around the box, but like you say - with power and mobility to go with.

The lad has everything other than a profile to go with his talent
I think he could really step up
