Coronavirus

Of course we could have done better but we could also have done a lot worse, it depends on what social media output folks read. I have said already its a MAJOR problem and there is no easy/right way to approach it ( lots of countries are struggling not just us). It just seems to me that a lot of criticism of the goverment is being biased according to what kind of political bent they are on ( just to be clear i am not accusing you of doing this).

Its a horror story and there is no simple solution to it ( unless you are some kind of expert on a football forum  apparently).

You can keep trotting out the ‘experts in a football forum’ line. It means fudge all, with due respect.

As I have said before, there is oodles of evidence (from the mortality numbers to the accounts of frontline staff - including one on here) that this country’s response has been a clustefudge. Germany’s, Austria’s, Singapore’s, South Korea’s, Australia’s, New Zealand’s hasn’t been.

You really don’t need to be ‘an expert’, or very clever, to see there were much better paths to follow, and plenty of countries took them - at a time when Boris was telling everyone to keep calm and wash their hands.

I will add to that. Maybe only America has done worse than us so far in this crisis... and maybe Belarus when the sh it hits the fan there.
I think Russia will have high numbers based on leaked info I have read (not the state flimflam). Brazil too will be bad for a variety of factors.

Not sure what Russia is doing, but yeah Brazil is another to add to that list.

This is such a leveller I wonder what the actual point is of lying? Hardly a show of weakness to say people have lost lives.

Russia is a weird weird race of folk

Nice to see different perspectives. But what do employees do without a job? Investors will tend to have money set aside. Those working in the company, probably not. And if there are no jobs, who will suffer the most? The investors (who lost some spare cash) or the people who don't have spare cash, and now have no job?

It ends up with Jacob Rees Moog’s investment firm telling its members that this is a good time to make money - as it did last week.

Distasteful. But it is an investment firm's job to advise, that's what they are paid to do. JRM wasn't particularly good at it though, when he was a fund manager his fund underperformed the sector (the average). Which suggests he doesn't make great decisions. What did he do when he failed at fund management? Became an MP of course!

You might criticise Rabb (was it), saying footballers should take a pay cut, whilst his colleagues such as JRM or affiliate Tory donors make more than PL players and went unmentioned. Hypocrisy?
