Cheatski are still scum

At least we can now head out and sign players without the delay of wondering whether we would win the qualifying ties for the CL in August. We know our fate, potential transfer targets know our fate and yes, perhaps we can't sign the same level players, but we can have a squad ready to compete and ready training together in pre-season.

More take a look at where we have gotten.

Spurs are the 4th best team in England

and nothing to show for it...

People aren't going to go, oh Spurs... they're the 4th best team in Europe, I'd love to play for them.. bollox. Chelsea are the "6th" best team in England, yet are now the best team in Europe apparently.

europa league, maybe modric and bale on their way, lets go for a new manager too.....fresh start completely

Realistically we are the 5th best team in England, rather than the 4th best team.

With Chelsea winning the CL, that achievement secures them as a better club than us this season, sadly.

I think Modric, Bale, VdV and Ade will leave. Plus I don't think we will get a great price from Modric as he will make it clear he only wants to go to one club, and we won't want him mucking up our early season like last year. I also think we will struggle to attract the top class forward we really need.

It will also be very difficult to get another top four finish next season, as chelsea will strengthen over the summer. It's very depressing but an unwillingness to spend money over recent transfer windows, and some odd decisions and poor performances have prevented us from securing a more regular top four spot. Such a small difference in points between third and fourth is going to really cost us.

What now? fudge me, I'm thinking about trekking into the mountains for about a month starting June 8th, need a break from football, this was just a bit too ridiculous ...

At least Vertonghen wants to join no matter what. Our squad will improve if we sign him. We were fighting for the title for half the season with the squad we have now.. Get a striker and we're laughing

Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen says it would be impossible to turn down Milan if they made an offer for his services.

The Belgium international, who was close to securing a move to White Hart Lane before the deal broken down over a Ôé¼20 million fee, still has one year remaining on his contract but is expected to leave the Dutch club this summer.

Spurs were thought to be in pole position to secure his signature and Vertonghen reportedly visited White Hart Lane to watch Tottenham play Fulham at the weekend.

The centre-back claims he is still entertaining thoughts of joining Milan, having been lavished with praise by the clubÔÇÖs chief executive Adriano Galliani during the group stages of the 2010/11 Champions League.

ÔÇ£I was struck by his words of appreciation after the game,ÔÇØ Vertonghen is quoted as saying by MilanNews.it. His words made me blush.

ÔÇ£I like the Premier League, but if Milan call you, you cannot say no.ÔÇØ

Vertonghen, who has been capped 36 times by his country, joined Ajax from Belgian club Germinal Beerschot in 2003. He has made 155 league appearances for Ajax since debuting for the first team in 2006.

He is expected to leave Holland this summer, with a number of Premier League clubs vying for his signature, but it appears that Milan are now his preferred destination.

does this mean arsenal have to play the qualifer for the champs league?

Do they get put down to the 4th place team?

im trying to find positives today, the thought of arsenal getting knocked in a qualifer makes me a little happy and im sad cos west ham and the ****s won today.

We need to spend big this summer on luke wells, nick powell, and that zaha lad at palace. I knows they are youngins but they are goodens.

No. All english clubs enter the group stage of the UCL. Tottenham go straight into the group stage for the Europa League.

I personally think all it does is slightly move our targets... younger, less established players with potential to be something special should be our aim.

Not being in Champs League means we won't get the world star but we should be able to buy a few youngish players with World Star potential to kickstart our future years and hopefully build a team for sustained success.

Yes, they do have to play the qualifier.
