How the fudge is Joe Cole a pundit? Do you not need some sort of minimum IQ.

“Yeah I think Pochettino decided 3 or 4 months ago that he has to leave Spurs to win trophies.”

What the fudge are you basing that on Joe besides your blatant bias against us? I don’t give a fudge what “feeling” you have, give me some insight that makes you say that.

Illiterate, inarticulate cretin.

Compared to them, we are a little pauper team.

We don't have to be. But we choose to be that little pauper team. And so, we are - until the day arrives when we can field a squad that can actually go out and win competitions like this, which this squad has proven unable to do.

But to get a squad capable of stepping up the required level, we need to spend money on it. That's where absolutely everything falls apart for us - and will until there's a change at the top.

Źzzzzzz

I'm putting that down and walking away. With a much weakend side we gave a reasonable account of ourselves tonight. Penalties are always a lottery. I am proud of the lads and love our club.

Well said that man.

fudge it, all these near misses, all this horrible, sickening pain is going to make it worth it when our time arrives. And it will arrive. Keep the faith.

what gets me is the scum (seemingly) always beat the blue scum - and we have done three on the trot in cup and league

ah well, it was a good showing, going 2 down but coming back to take it to pens

Seems the only requirement is to be a former ManUre / Dipper / Goon / Chavski player  #Sky4

I agree. With our three top strikers missing it was hardly surprising we were toothless in attack. We tried hard and fought well, but one attempt all game tells its own story. Llorente, Lamela and Moura are not adequate replacements. If we are to go up another level, we need at least one top quality recruit up front. Someone with pace and trickery is essential. The best player in this bracket who is potentially gettable (albeit expensive) is Zaha imo. Does he qualify as home grown?

Have you forgotten we have 3 major players unavailable? Two of whom are unlikely to be fit in time for the final and one who will have been flogged to death by his Country’s National team? Not to mention Guardiola’s City are not the same as Mancini’s. I give you with those 3 fit and firing we had a chance but really winning today would have just set up a hammering in the final.

No I haven't forgotten that. And it would be difficult. We would undoubtedly be the underdogs. But they are not on a different level to us, this is ridiculous hyperbole to maybe make ourselves feel better. We are literally 1 place and 5 points behind them.

I wasn't saying the two City teams are the same, I was saying underdogs can and do win trophies against much better sides.

Lloris/ Gazza

Aurier--Vertonghen--Alderweireld--Rose

----Winks----Dier------

--Moura---Eriksen---Lamela--

------------Son--------

Is still a top team. Worse than one with Kane and Dele, sure. Worse than City, sure. But far better than the Wigan or Birmingham sides that won their trophies, better arguably than the Spurs side that won our last trophy. Far better than the Palace side that just beat City at the Etihad. Better than the Spurs side which fluked a 2-1 win vs Liverpool when we were bottom of the table.
