Winks, Skipp
Lamela, Dele, Eriksen
Llorente

Lloris, Foyth, Vertonghen, Davies, Walker-Peters, Dier, Parrott

The liability trippier doesnt deserve a place on the bench.

Lloris second choice for me now until he retires. Will be a decent enough cup keeper for us going forward, whilst we look for someone we can rely on. Hopefully thats Gazza.

LOL you, Sir (or madam?), are off your tits.

Thanks for the laugh, though.

I would refer you to my posts in the lloris thread where i outline my growing concerns about him.

I say would because i think its you having a laugh based on your post, i mean your response makes it sound like im talking about de gea.

Lloris is a good keeper but he's not elite level and actually is a worse keeper now than the one who joined us several years ago.

Controversial. I think that Walker Peters is the best attacking full back in our squad and the one most adapt to 3-4-3

Foyth has the best ability of the centre halves to take the ball into midfield and would be the deepest midfielder when we are attacking

Lamela's energy and commitment is best suited to the centre and for all the talk of false nines and bringing in the youngsters, we have a Spanish international centre forward who has played for some of the best teams in the world and scored a hat-trick the last time he started a match.

I'm not sure why people are desperate to go 3 at the back tomorrow - we've generally played a back 4 this season. We also have enough fit players (just) to play our more typical 4-2-3-1 with Skipp, Winks, Lamela, Dele, Eriksen and Lamela

I was suggesting it because Poch Is generally flexible on formations and picks one to suit the best players that he has available. He then sticks with it until fkrcfoto change. I think that this might be one of those forced to change moments.

Maybe it's because Skipp is still a kid learning the ropes and Winks is now - at a stretch - our only remaining holding midfielder (if at all).

Would be happy to see Foyth near Winks in a 4231, though, as opposed to to 343. I think the lad is more than capable of doing a holding midfield job while Winks does the distribution

+our FBs are leaving our back two exposed .. so 3 at the back solves both problems

...though Poch has shown that he's happy to start Skipp in the PL, so I cant see why he wouldnt start him tomorrow, particularly as Fulham aren't exactly flying

Understand the comments about Foyth's ability on the ball, though I dont think its as simple as that. He wouldnt be familiar with positional aspects of the role, when to push on vs hold etc - I'd rather have Skipp starting in CM than Foyth

3 at the back makes sense. Keep things tight, have security for winks and Skipp to play, and allow the FBs to get toward and provide width. We need one of the CBs to step out into midfield when we’re attacking.

Can I ask why you think Poch has shown he’s happy to start Skipp in the PL? During a really busy period Poch persisted with playing Sissoko every time when Skipp was available. Skipp has only ever started one game in the PL, so right now he seems to be more of a last resort....

Yes, I agree he's only started him as a last resort - however that's really where we are....no Dier, Wanyama, Sissoko and with Dembele gone, we are down to the bare bones. And you wouldnt really expect Skipp to be a last resort option give him age and inexperience, and only emerged during this season

The injuries in CM are compounded by Kane, Son and Moura being missing which means that we need Dele and Eriksen further forward. We're left with Llorente, Lamela, Dele and Eriksen as our only senior attacking players

It is funny that you think Poch would bench the club captain.

Because Sanchez is, at the moment, a WAY better defender than Skipp is CM, so makes sense to play your best players and we generally play well with 3 at the back. For a long time 3 at the back was the tried and trusted formation until one of the defenders got injured. Things change and Poch rolls with it.
