I was worried we fielded our slowest two fullbacks against a pacy counter attacking team and then once Trips took a knock he should have been hooked.

I fear Poch got the half time talk all wrong, not sure if it was fatigue and or trying to manage the game by going down a gear. We were noticably slower to everything, lost our movement off the ball and ended up with what we deserved...

Bad day at the office but one that I feel we could have and should have avoided...

We should have played Rose and Aurier..hindsight is a great thing..maybe Poch should have them As tiredness may or has set in. Rose is A strong player going forward and that would have taken some weight off of the midfield players.

We have been in a great position this year because as luck would have it we do have a good backup squad..problem is injuries have even eaten this away as well. Vertongen..important player and Lamela suddenly getting injured! Deli as well , key player not back to fitness.
On top of this Son who is such an important player is off to a tournament in Asia just when obviously he has a crucial role to play in our Team. This may have added to some small pressure on the squad when trying to aim high.
We're just not quite there are we?
We will come back definately if we can get our injured players back...but how long do we have to wait when they are needed now.

A player in the transfer window ...may give us a lift..even if just to keep us in the top four!!! (GHod knows who though)
As we know this Team has Been together quite awhile now, lets hope they can still keep the faith in each other and win something....for themselves! and maybe the club.
CoySpurs................

Watching the goons get smashed has tempered my disappointment.

All said and done, we go into the New Year with a 7 point cushion for a top 4 place, League Cup semi-final and Champions League football to play. That ain't bad is it?

Makes it worse for me, we need the dippers to drop points

I was surrounded by tourists today. Young Korean lad beside me didn’t watch any of the game, except for the odd moment when he was taking a photograph of Son. Otherwise, spent all of his time texting. Yanks on the other side didn’t join in with any singing.

GET US HOME!

Agree with this. We had two clowns beside us watching pretty much the entire game through a smartphone and filming the Wolves fans when they scored rather than showing any disgust at all at our performance. There were a lot of others taking pics during the game. Horrific.

I know the team gave us little to shout about but the support was poor. Wolves fans out sang us from start to finish and when they stole our songs, we just gave upr. And as for the lads leaving 10 mins from the end...

Can’t wait to get home.

Sounds like every visit to Wembley I’ve had this season... Bad enough the Korean youngsters who are Son fanatics but the middle-aged Caucasian couple who spent 60 minutes filming each other on Boxing Day before buggering off to do some shopping were the most infuriating I’ve ever had the misfortune of sitting in the vicinity of at a football match!
Unfortunately i cant see this changing much when we go to NWHL. Yes the atmosphere should be better but youre still going to have those people you mention going. Its a new breed of fans that dont sing or cheer. Too busy snapchatting them or tagging their mates in a post. Youve also got the middle age posh fcuks who think its cool to watch football, but wont cheer.

You can apply that to most successful teams.

You’d have to pay £400m for Salah, Mané and Firmino (or thereabouts).

And Eriksen and Lamela have been around for years, so you’d have to adjust for inflation as well as taking into account their improvement.

To some degree, but we find value far beyond anyone else imo, Alli and Eriksen cases in point, dirt cheap and instantly two of the best players in the league.

The three dippers you named still cost them nearly 100m, whereas our two were about 15m combined.

I was wondering about this myself at HT today. Mind you, doesn’t seem an issue at Anfield...

I think it is. You get tourists going up there to see the Beetles and Pool play. We'll have some of that at NWHL but it won't be half as bad as at Wembley. At the moment the non-fans stick out like a sore thumb. They won't so much at NWHL as tickets won't be as easy to come by and the atmostphere will be better.

Which all kind of backs up my point that we’re over-achieving, comparatively.

I disagree, I think we do a better job behind the scenes which makes up for the difference in spend and we shouldn’t ignore that. Our squad should absolutely be challenging for the league.

I think we’re talking at cross purposes.

Our squad is that good because we over achieve (or make up the difference if you like) in areas that are not (just) financial: The way we’re run, Poch and coaching, the academy and so on.

We don’t rely on spending money like Man U and Chelsea for example, yet we’re still better than them.

At least season ticket holders will attend most games at NWHL (rather than get a refund on their seat virtually every match which then gets sold on to sightseers, as has been the case at Wembley this season) and I’ve built up a far better tolerance to their constant whinging over the decades!

Perhaps, I’m saying money isn’t everything and to say we shouldn’t think about winning the league because we are outspent is wrong.

The only criteria on which to judge title challengers is the ability of their players imo.

Edit: to add, I don’t think our back office activity is overachieving, it’s good management, we do it right, others don’t.
