The simple truth of the matter is if you do not strengthen your squad and you have loads of injuries you will eventually come up and short and things like this will happen.
Especially if you dont even bother to replace the walking dead with the options you do have

I was worried we fielded our slowest two fullbacks against a pacy counter attacking team and then once Trips took a knock he should have been hooked.

I fear Poch got the half time talk all wrong, not sure if it was fatigue and or trying to manage the game by going down a gear. We were noticably slower to everything, lost our movement off the ball and ended up with what we deserved...

Bad day at the office but one that I feel we could have and should have avoided...

Disappointing but hopefully many on here weren’t really believing we could win the league? That was just media hype because we’d temporarily overtaken City. We don’t have the squad to win it, our aim for this season was always top 4 and that remains well on course. This time of year there’s plenty of football, so we can quickly put this bad day at the office behind us and move on to the next....

2 changes which would have instantly made us more of a threat

Have to agree with that. Even move Davies into a back 3, with Rose and KWP on the flanks, try and match Wolves man for man. We were 2nd best for all of the 2nd half, Poch didn't have his best game today really. Though he did bring Moura on who just did phuck all, which wasn't Poch's fault.

I knew today would be tough. Wolves played well at theirs. Too many games toomany injuries. players are tired.

How deep is it reasonable to expect a squad to be if you don't have unlimited funds like City or Chelski? We have Jan, Dembele, Lamela, Dier, Aurier and Wanyama injured, with Rose, Moura, Foyth and KWP on the bench. All quality players who have done very well for us - some better and more consistently than others, but there are no poor and easily replaceable players in that group IMO.

I believe it, I think our best 11 is better than city or Liverpools.

That’s all well and good, but who and how?

It’s very tough to legislate for three MFs being out at once. Add to that an experienced CB and intermittent injuries for others thennits very hard when allied to a difficult Christmas schedule.

Take three first choice MFs out of any team and see what it does.

It was meant tongue in cheek in a moment of extreme anxiety.

Just for future reference, not all of my posts are deeply thought through.

I think everyone on here who's deeply offended by knee jerk comments during a game should perhaps just not read the match thread while its on. It can feel kind of good to let some steam off when we're brick.

Calling for a knee jerk amnesty for all posters during and for at least 30 mins after a match is over! It's normal to react with anger and disappointment when something you care so deeply for ruins your day/weekend, and it doesn't mean you don't support the team, obviously.

We make do with what we have. Nothing can be expected in terms of transfers, because it's almost certain that we won't make any, with all the usual excuses trotted out.

What you see is what we're going to have to work with.

I think we're a bit unfortunate to have Dier and Lamela out right now though. Dier in particular. With long-term injuries to our other centre-mids (which I grant you, could have been predicted and perhaps should have been sorted by now, by replacing one of them). But just having those two available today would have made a big difference, imo.
