Ahh Trippier, you're refusal to pass forward gets me every time.

I can,t understand this about Tripps...he was brilliant going forward in the World Cup..is he being played out of position..it's no good using him for cover at the back because his skill is best utilised going forward.l can,t comment how he played today because I don,t have Sky or BT at home.
Anyway..s h I t.

We didn't play well. But disapointed as we were a goal up, and we shouldn't lose from that position. Same with Watford, we crumbled. As @Bedfordspurs said, no Dier in the middle, with Sissoko running on empty, is maybe the biggest factor. Would have liked Poch to put Foyth on, prepared him to play as a screening DM. Easy to say in hindsight.

We were never competing for the title this year.

Maintaining CL status to see us into the new stadium surely is the aim.

We’re still over achieving with Levy and Poch at the helm; out performing many better financed rivals.

One loss doesn’t change any of this.

Words of wisdom! Easy to get carried away with this title talk, but truth is, we're overperforming by quite a bit at this point. Top four finish this season would be excellent.

It’s not hindsight though, practically all of us have saying Sissoko especially needs a rest. With Skipps emergence he at least looked capable of being rotated in these slightly less difficult games but he’s still insisted on Sissoko/Winks the whole time. I’m sure Poch had his reasons so don’t really want to criticise but I don’t get it....

I don’t think the sitting back was intentional, we recovered the ball after a Wolves attack and had no idea what to do with it. Lost it over and over again and had to deal with Wolves again.

A really bad day at the office and I’m not sure any tactical switch could have changed much. We were screwed injury wise and I think even when we were ahead it was looking like one of our worst performances of the season. The collective inspiration just wasn’t there.

I think that is a symptom of dropping the pace. There is less movement and less balls on. Our inability to clear the ball in the lead up to the equaliser was shameful. We just invited pressure.

Was a bit too early to start Skipp and playing with Winks we would have looked very light weight in the middle. So can see why Poch started Sissoko. Around 50-60 mins though, I agree a brave sub would have been bringing on Skipp and Foyth. Actually it should have been planned and addressed with the players at HT. The writing was on the wall, Poch needed a plan how to wrest back control.

I think it was a bit. We played from the first whistle like we wanted to sort of manage our way through the game and hope we could create something. Wolves were happy enough with that scenario in the first half. And I do agree as well with @milo that once we were in that mode of slow play, we couldn't change gear when we needed to. Partly down to tiredness, partly down to being stuck in that lethargic mode. So I agree with all of you *group hug*

I don’t think lack of recruitment was an issue. Unless we bought seven players this summer (what could possibly go wrong with that?). We have many key injuries- especially to our tough center of Dier/Dembélé/Wanyama. Not even jack grealish would have made a difference

I think there is dropping the pace and keeping the ball in an intelligent way to take the sting out of the game...and then there is doing what we did. We were brick, I don’t think there was any design behind it, I just think the lads were spent and it was a bad day at the office.

@milo - Toby. Got us out of trouble on a few occasions. Not that it mattered in the end however.
Hard to pick anyone really.
Sissoko also maybe.
Kane for the goal and always trying but was nowhere near his best.

Have to agree with that. Even move Davies into a back 3, with Rose and KWP on the flanks, try and match Wolves man for man. We were 2nd best for all of the 2nd half, Poch didn't have his best game today really.

At least do SOMETHING Poch. Change SOMETHING. Formation, players, mentality. Stop sitting back and observing the mess.

Just to be clear, I am sure that the players are tired but no more so than any other club over Christmas and New Year.

Dembele/Wanyama are injury prone to the point of being finished here.

What could possibly go wrong on relying on those 2

Jack Grealish wouldn’t have made a difference, but he shouldn’t have been a target

That Sissoko run.... Came to nothing but it was a highlight with Kane's strike.

Annoyed we lost this and Watford - that we've given up a lead twice (and in some CL games) shows there is an issue here. More than just fatigue though of course it plays a key part.

We’re still above plenty of clubs that outspend and out-earn is on every front.
