Agreed which is why I want an upgrade there before we get another wide player and I don't see Zaha as that upgrade at CF

You do follow the logic that Son is excellent (and proven) cover for Kane, and so - should we buy a player like Zaha, Son could deputise for Kane easily, dont you?
Fully understand that, what I'm saying is that I'd sooner have Son play than Zaha and then have a deputy for Kane that doesn't fill a slot where we have 3 players already.
Son, Lamela and Moura as our wide players with Kane plus new backup. IMHO Son > Zaha.

How much would you CF "upgrade" cost? 20mill? 25 mill? 30mill? And for what? half a dozen starts a season mainly in the minor cups?
What makes you think he'd only get half a dozen starts? There have been games where we've been crying out for 2 up front and we haven't had that second striker, as for cost if Zaha is going to cost £45 - 50m as the papers say why not spend a similar amount on a decent striker.

Id like us to sign Zaha but if he wants to go to Chelski for whatever reasons then I guess we will try and sign someone else.
Who knows he may still end up at Spurs if we are still interested

But he wasn't the main striker!!!!! Benteke played 30 games and Sørloth played 4 games up front.
@Kandi1977, that's where I took the 9 as CF from.
Either way I'm not convinced that Zaha is an upgrade on any of the players we have who can play out wide up front and would sooner see a CF come in so we can leave Son in his best position which is playing wide.
