Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

That conversation won’t happen mate. Put simply, Poch will never, ever have the opportunity to build like he has with us again. Real Madrid? If he doesn’t win/sign galacticos in his first season, then he would be pilloried.

I think if Conte gets the boot he would be a great fit.
If I were Chelski I’d deal him to Madrid on the understanding they don’t go for Hazard...

Chelsea don't want to pay him off, so I'm kind of hoping Real don't help them out.

Over the last few years Real Madrid have had their fun with us. This would break me if we let Poch go to them but I also understand you can't prevent him if he wants to go. How good would it feel though to tell Perez to go fcuk himself.

Can't prevent him? He just signed a new contract last week! Of course we can prevent him. Having said that, I don't think he's interested at this point, sounds like a very Un-poch thing to do, sign a new contract one week, then come crawling for a new job the next.

Players that don't want to play is one thing, but a coach that goes on strike and don't want to coach? That would have been intresting situation...

Don’t think he’ll go personally but it’d be foolish to assume that it’s not a possibility.

Yes Poch has principles, yes his style of management doesn’t seem a fit for Madrid, yes we are on the cusp of something exciting.

But it’s Madrid. It’s the biggest job in club football. It’s a chance to test yourself at the very highest level. And Madrid will chuck a lorry load of cash at it and him if they have to.

I’m beyond thinking that any individual is 100% moral or absolutely the character they portray to the world. Too many have shown they have feet of clay. Poch is human after all so, if the speculation is genuine, he will be tempted.

Exactly. This notion that 'he would be stupid to join Real Madrid at this stage' is nonsense. There are no guarantees in football, you cant just assume Real Madrid will come calling in a few years. And why on earth one of the most talented and ambitious coaches in football would be stupid to take on the massive challenge of managing the biggest club in the world is beyond me....

Doubt Levy will let Pochettino going derail his plans.
I think if he is off Levy will have a successor in mind and negotiations already.

If it happens, Levy will fudge Perez very hard. To paraphrase a post from a few weeks ago, Perez will hand over a fortune and have to buy his own lube.

The money is a given and to a large degree irrelevant we get a lot for Pochettino and pay that out for whoever.

I think we will have to bite the bullet re a new manager sooner than later.
Three years is now a long time to be at one club.

Yep, next one up, Poch was always going to leave one day, I’m confident that whenever that is, whoever replaces him, the progress will continue.

1) I think the notion that a man who has just signed a contract extension would up sticks to go to Real Madrid within weeks is nonsense.

2) I'll do my best to help bring it within range ( ;-) )...Poch has a philosophy, and what is perceived as an attractive challenge by one is not the same for another. To sit in that seat you need to have some major experience and some big balls. Zidane got away with it because he is a World Cup winner and was a Madrid legend walking into a club with galacticos everywhere. Put simply, unless Poch's ego is wildly out of control, he is simply not ready to go to a job like that (arguable if anyone really is)...

Levy must be bricking it big time. Poch wants reassurance and for Levy to have balls.

Can only see this going one way. Madrid get what they want ultimately. Look at Modric and Bale.

They haven’t actually bid for Kane yet but if they do I reckon he will be off.

One minute it looked rosy with Bale and the next he was off. Things can change very very quickly in football. This Zidane announcement has royally fudged the way the summer was supposed to go.

Poch is a gun for hire...he has been a good shot...but he is just one cab in the rank. I personally think he would need his bump feeling to go to that madhouse.

If Levy can cope with the stadium rebuild he can cope with Poch going to Madrid.
I will not be a surprise and he will have known it might happen months ago.

I don't believe Poch is going anywhere.
I'm not naive enough to think he will be with us forever, but right now, with a new contract freshly signed, his commitment is to Spurs.
IF he did go now, it would really cloud my opinion of him.
But, it's not going to happen, so my love for him remains intact :)

Poch has stated he'd like to manage Madrid one day, and he is well aware of their 'philosophy' so he is obviously not peturbed by that. This might not be the perfect time for him to become their boss but that doesnt mean he can turn it down because you dont know if the opportunity will ever come again - you hope it would but there are no guarantees in football. So like I say, he wouldnt be stupid to turn them down - they are the biggest club in world football. It's not a big risk taking the job, even if it did go all wrong there would doubtlessly be teams queuing up to sign him. Coaches who get sacked from Real never have any trouble getting another job. Im not saying he should take it, but it would be understandable if he did and certainly not stupid to do so. This is Real Madrid FFS....

Levy must be bricking it big time. Poch wants reassurance and for Levy to have balls.

You'd hope that he is a lot more aware of the actual situation than us and is either relaxed in knowing that Poch will stay or working out how to screw the most money possible out of Madrid and considering his options for our next manager.

Considering how long (and how many appointments) it took him to 'find' Poch, I can't say that prospect fills me with optimism.
