In essence we are forging ahead financially but the very biggest boys (United and City) continue to surge further away from us. So we desperately need CL qualification and that new stadium just to help prevent them from completely disappearing over the horizon.

All very good points.Plan would never have been to catch United (they are the biggest club in the world), City is unfortunate as the money doping there continues.
What is important is we close the gap on Pool, Chelsea, Scum, if we can pull within ~20-30M of revenue of them, we can bet on being a better managed club to consistently stay top 4.
Our problem for last two decades is we have consistently had 5 clubs with at least double our revenue to outperform, if we can bring that down to only two, its a big difference. And as I've said before, once you get into that revenue category (puts a huge gap behind you to other 14 sides in PL), it isolates you from real trouble, you can buy your way out effectively (look at Pool)

Going by reports that's what we've offered Alderweireld without it being enough.More than we do now. At least £5m - £10m a year extra. £10m for example would be enough to give our 3/4 best players a significant pay increase.
Sorry if this is stating the obvious... but people can click on this post from inkpenspur and get reams of info about Spurs... I think most of you know this... but perhaps some don't, since it hardly generated any comment/debate for some reason. Maybe it is just too much to take in, so many figures to digest

I think that's a direct extrapolation of seat numbers, without taking into account the extra corporate seating.Thsnks for the effort there @SteveAWOL
Seems he's being a bit conservative there where he states matchday revenue should rise by 20m (from 45m) in the new stadium

Maybe, makes me question how clued up he actually is though and the validity of what else he sayd tbh as that's a pretty big difference between what we should be expecting
He's has always seemed very negative with regards to our potential. Could be because he's a gooner.
