Official No game this weekend OMT

Had Lamela scored would you been slating Sissoko still? Not sure with those conditions, Llorente stayed on the bench. Oh well, Southampton played well, we didn't turn up ready for a scrap in the rain. To be fair they didn't score, only an own goal saved them from defeat.

I do not know why you would not bring on a striker when your chasing a game.

I’ve thought for a couple of weeks that 4th place is gone, but I’d say it’s nailed on gone after today.

Disagree. There will be some twists before the season is done. I would say it means we cannot afford to lose at Liverpool. Let us hope Swansea show the same spirit Soton did today...we made enough chances to win today despite the stodgy performance but finishing was very poor. Sissoko,Lamela and Hazza all missed easy chances IMO. Wanyama for Dembele improved us significantly. Aurier injury probably cost us seeing Llorente on for Sissoko...

I think a draw was a fair result, both sides had chances to nick it, it was a tough game. We can redeem ourselves in the next 3 league games, it's up to us to go out and show we deserve Champions League football.
We didn’t manage a single shot on target in the second half - a disgrace.

I still think we have a great chance of making the top 4 but I'll be brutally honest, I can't see anything other than a Liverpool win when we play them at Anfield. We've won there twice in the PL era IIRC? That could leave us a mountain to climb.

Season over then?

Nope, still in the FA cup and Champions league and getting further into the CL would be great for experience, money and seeding.

Still in the top 4 race even if (when) Liverpool win tomorrow but like I said, its getting difficult now and the run of upcoming fixtures is horrific. We need to step up massively if we're going to win some of those and get back into the top 4.

No excuses now really, almost everyone is back from injury now. We're just waiting on Toby now.

Dreadful just dreadful. Nothing else to say. Will need a Miracle to get top 4. Not great moving into new stadium with no cl football. Not only from a footballing point of view but also for sponsors etc

Alli and Dembele hold on to the ball too long.

Completely agree. There were a few great counters, the kind we need to take advantage of against any team and they hold on, hold on, hold on until the opportunity has passed and they're dispossessed. Very poor.

The stat about no shots on target in the 2nd half is shocking too. Jesus. Not at all like Southampton sat back all that half either.

Sorry mate must have missed Aurier’s injury. Thought at first it was a tactical sub with him also bringing on Llorente which obviously did not happen.

I thought Soton played well and deserved to win tbh. Agree on all other counts. Alli was particularly bad today.

I'd say that they were decent - quick on the ball, and reasonably sharp. But I can't help but feel that Liverpool would have thumped them 10-0 despite that. City 15-0. Chelsea 5-0, and so on, and so on. They left spaces, they were too far forward a number of times, the gaps were there. Only, we played like drunken one-legged blind elephants, so we couldn't take advantage of those spaces.

Why doesn't someone talk to Delli about playing the percentages? He may as well not be on the pitch when conditions are like those of today. he still wants to play Hollywood football, it must do his team mate's heads in when they make a gut busting run into space and he wants to take another touch and turns over possession.

The questions aimed at the club should be why do we have no one to create when Christian is out.

He’s clearly the man that makes my pants sticky, but we really look hopeless going forward with out him.

Not really. Alli was far, far worse.

I' m not saying Sissoko wasn't bad - he was. But he's also the totem pole for criticism at all times, whether he plays well or not - so it's nice to occasionally remember that, is all.
Sissoko, when he is involved, actually tries to move the ball quickly which is more than can be said of Alli, Dembele and even Kane and Son. Sissoko’s problem is he doesn’t do enough in the game, he is a big lad and should put himself about a bit more, win the ball and start attacks.
