January transfer window wishlist

What business would you like to see in the next window. I would like Adebayor to be shipped out somehow, and a new young striker to be brought in. Cover for LB would be ideal as well.

John Guidetti might be worth a bid, with even more strikers coming into City he's not gonna get any playing time soon and could push for a move if we came in. David Hoilett could be another worth a shout.

At the moment we've got a fantastic squad. We've got four great CBs, some athletic young wing-backs, the best goalkeeper in the league, the steeliest midfield in the league, some of the best creative players in the league, and we have a Spanish international leading the line, and all that is without even mentioning our 30 million pound record signing Lamela, who we've gotten to see for about thirty minutes so far. And then you get to our manager, a superb tactician and a surprisingly effective motivator, flanked by a cult hero in Steffen Freund and a bunch of dour-looking Portuguese blokes who presumably are very good at their jobs. And overseeing it all, you've got a masterful chairman who's just concluded one of the best transfer windows in this club's history.

Only Spurs suporters could possibly start planing for the January window two bloody weeks after the last one, with all its attendant triumphs. ](*,)

Oh, I can't resist, dammit. A young striker as an eventual replacement for either a transferred Ade or a retired Defoe (Guidetti, Icardi, Niang, or Muriel [-o< ) and potentially a new LB if Rose falls off (though he's getting a wee bit better every game, imo).

Probably a lazy link, but I do like the thought of Stephan El Shaarawy joining up.
Seem far fetched, but so did Lamela a couple of months ago.

Can we just raid the football league for some young British talent, I always liked it when we pulled off double signings like Davies/Etherington, Reid/Dawson and Walker/Naughton because you always felt there was a good chance one of them would make it.

Are there any clubs with good youngsters out there these days? or have they all already been priced above 10m!

EDIT: In all honestly I doubt there are many (if any) prospects in the lower leagues with potential to get fast tracked into our current 11. The level we are at nowadays any new youngster will be shipped straight back out and made to complete our 5 year step by step loan plan up through the leagues that we seem to have established :)

Lorente and Coentrao.

I feel a bit greedy typing that actually.

That would be astonishing.

Realistically I think we would struggle to keep both Llorente and Soldado happy at the club and we should probably target a younger striker. I really like the idea of getting a more physical, taller striker in to have that option in the squad and if that player was Llorente I would be delighted as I rate him very highly.

A new left back depends on how Rose develops. Not saying he will reach the levels of Coentrao by January, but if he keeps improving then that left back spot isn't as precarious as it looked earlier this summer.

Honestly, the way things are looking now I would be alright with us doing nothing in January, although a couple of high profile youngsters is always fun.

Eh, why in the name of GHod would Llorente leave Juve after 6 months? Seriously, it's just nuts to even talk about.

As for Coentrao, the pressing need for a left back seems to be receding with each game.

Yes you may be right about that, but just maybe we are getting to stage in our club's development that allows us to think a bit bigger. Other top four clubs have multiple top class strikers on the books and we should should not be afraid to think this way too if the numbers stack up. And if the (unconfirmed) rumours of Ade's discontent are true then we may need a new plan B. Ade out, Llorente in would be a dream switch for us. If thereiseven a small chance we'd be mad not to try for him.

On Rose I'll admit I was a non-believer, but his last performance against Norwich was excellent. Hopefully the first of many. But even if Rose does keep up reasonably good performance levels I do think we need another LB. Moving someone out there to do a job is a band-aid. I believe we need specialist cover in that position, and like for like specialist cover preferably. I have a feeling AVB thinks this way too and it seems the club was working on a move for Coentrao in the last window that didn't materialise. With Utd sniffing around to this move is probably even be more unlikely now but hey, it's a wishlist :)

Um...wishlist. Not realism list.

He has been linked away after finding himself on the bench in their first games. Although I agree it seems unlikely.

left back cover/first choice depending on how Rose fares over the coming months and a replacement for Ade - preferably a young target man type. other than that we really don't need to be adding much - possibly that young Spanish winger we were linked to if a good deal can be struck but that can wait till the summer i guess

At least 3 players. LB, maybe RB. Player for top 3 , someone who can play left/right/central. Lennon,Chadli,Townsend not good enough. Soldado not good enough so far.

Would be a mistake to not sign the right players. The player for the front 3 has be top tier or genuinely promising youngster.

if we go into Feb with Rose and Townsend in the team, we will only have ourselves to blame when we finish outside the CL places again.
