We're definitely not a title rival to City and City could certainly count on him to help us get points against the other title challengers. We need a quality alternative to Kane and Edin is brilliant. Not beyond the realms of possibility but there's other clubs he'd probably rather go to.

I'd be happy to see him join, but if he leaves Emirates Marketing Project there's bound to be interest from at least one Champions League team who can offer more wages than us.

Are we perceived as a rival? I think we're sadly seen as the Europa League second tier. Rightly so.

Do you think we missing something and this status should actually be promote among the team? That we are not expected to break into the CL. That we need to fight against the world to get there. Too often we're biged up as a potential top 4 team only to end up in EL places. Would we be better off positioning ourselves as outsiders? As a club who needs to fight for every inch. Because we do. We're far behind the likes of manu in spending power. In a different league.

Any links or are we just spitballing here?

I'd have him in a heartbeat. I actually think he is better than he has shown in England, if that makes sense. Before his City move I watched him tear Bayern apart almost singlehandedly. That was just one match admittedly but that put him on my watch list.

Only Spitballing, I'm afraid. But I think he is just the sort of player that would suit us admirably. He is dropping down the order at City behind Aguero, Bony, Sterling, Silva etc. Might fancy a new challenge.

And those that think we are "a title rival" with our current squad are living in cloud cuckoo land imo.

I know it will be viewed as heresy to say so, but I am not expecting Kane to have nearly as good a season this time. We are desperately short up front.

based on his Wolfsburg form I thought he was an aggressive version of Zlatan with more movement off the ball.
based on his City form - his hold up play is rubbish and needs 87 chances to score. misses wayyyy too many chances

one day people get this (probably needs a fancy manager in a interview to state rather than me)......... playing in Premiership is different. Skill and technique mean absolutely nothing without other attributes. ask Soldado, ask Falcao, ask Dzeko. And then Ask Harry Kane, Aguero and Diego Costa.
Without hold up play, appreciation of space and the ability to manipulate defenders and manipulate the tempo of the game these skilful players don't make it in this league.

It amazes me that people can't put 2 and 2 together and not see that every top scorer in the premiership has the above physical attributes.

Further amazes me that people still see a "number 9" as old fashioned

Even further amazes me that people see big men as nothing but target strikers and small guys as skilful players. People are stuck in the 90's where the size of the striker determines their ability.

An Arsenal fan said to me the other day he wishes they signed an "out and out striker like Aguero" Err excuse me mate, Agueros hold up play and link play is second to none. Those things come first before any skill can be executed.

So no to Dzeko. He's just a talent but thats not enough.

agree

tbh our striking situation is worrying. If anything happens to Harry we are fecked.

Daily Mail two weeks ago:

Emirates Marketing Project will listen to offers for Edin Dzeko amid reports in Italy that Roma have already agreed personal terms over a four-year deal for the Bosnia striker.

Dzeko, 29, only signed a new contract at the Etihad last summer but his future has been in doubt since City brought in Wilfried Bony from Swansea for £28million in the January transfer window.

City are unlikely to accept anything less than £20m for Dzeko who has scored 72 goals in 189 games for the club since arriving from Wolfsburg for £27m in January 2011.

However, his form dipped last season and he only scored six goals in all competitions, making just 11 starts in the Premier League.

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic fuelled speculation that his Bosnia teammate could take a pay cut and move to Italy earlier this week, saying: 'Dzeko would run to Roma and the wages won't be a problem, as he'd adjust to them. It all depends on the club.'

And therein lies the rub, he is on well over £100k a week, at the very least 3 times more than Harry Kane earns. Somehow I am not sure that will fly with Levy or Harry Kane's agent
