Coronavirus

What worries me over here is open up for Christmas for family gatherings... they were always gonna happen
Don’t let the pubs and restaurants open though as there the ones that by default drive the wing behaviour
And I say that was someone who eats out normally 3 times a week

If you believe legohamster, this is a locked down Japan. From Sunday 22 November 7pm news on NHK.

“certain aspects”

But even better if it’s been a free for all for months and they are only seeing a rise now.

like here in the summer when there was riots and protests and packed beaches -shows it’s seasonal and doesn’t matter what you do, there will always be a way in because it’s a virus.

70% isn't as high as they would have hoped, especially with the 95% success rate of the other vaccines but a good start

Sounds like it can be up to 90% with different strengths of vaccine.
This one also has less stringent cold storage requirements which potentially makes it more readily deployable globally. And it's cheaper.

@tommysvr
Yep, 'were' in lockdown and certain aspects of it (travel bans)
So you post pictures from Nov 22nd

Its Monday, let's get this weekly ding-dong going:rolleyes:...is that the plan?

They were never in lockdown. Can you elaborate on the travel bans? Seems to be at odds with the nationwide ‘Go To Travel’ campaign that’s been going on for months.

I’ll ding-dong as long as people post false information in the thread.

Literally nothing about Japan shows that. Do some research first, at least.

Taiwan’s success seems to be based on a swift response and clear messaging - so, the opposite of the UK’s.

Did the swift response include personal restrictions? Weren't they one of the ones who tracked where everyone went?
It will be interesting in hindsight to see if two things may have helped. 1. The experience of dealing with a previous SARS epidemic 2. Whether exposure to SARS 1 has legacy immunity that is helping?
