The transfer thread

Him and Diaby make for very exciting wing play. It us my favourite style of play fast attacking wingers, two defensive midfielders in the middle.

You can keep your Spanish tippy tappy nonsense I like the German and French football.

Bailey and Diaby on the wings and Zakira with holberg in the middle would be amazing. Never going to happen of course.

Maybe Clarke and Sessegnon... I do feel Bailey has a higher ceiling then bergy

Anyone think we’ll do any business in January?

I was shocked at what we invested in the summer window - really expected in’s and out’s to be balanced, and they weren’t!

With the £60m loss just reported and fans at games having gone away again, I wonder if we’ll more be looking to balance the books still from the summer, rather than be able to roll the dice again for new players.

No. I'd settle for one young signing

Not sure we will to be honest, lets face it there are not many big/good signings in the Jan window. I think we would rather wait to the summer window where they will be bigger names on the move.

Think it may be outgoings only. Dele or Winks. Would feel uncomfortable if both were allowed to leave.

Weird stuff could happen though from now until end of transfer window.

There will be some clubs open to selling players that they normally wouldn't due to the financial pressures being faced.

Would be a very clever move IMO
Agree, he's a very high quality player and would compliment Højbjerg and Ndombele perfectly. Good mix of both skill sets.
Du you guys, or others, think he could play instead of Hojbjerg on case of injury/rotation?

Could he form a partnership with Sissoko, Lo Celso, Winks or others? Or would he more be an upgrade on Sissoko for our strongest 11 in a lot of games, but still leave us with the problem of what to do in case Hojbjerg can't play?

He isn’t like Hojdjerg from what I’ve seen
He is a all carrier and passer who can start deeper. kinda like a Carrick but with goals and running. A lot of RBS goals start with him (that’s a similarity to Hojdjerg). It would be a great addition and one that I think is doable. Their signing Szoboslai to replace him IMO and would want to recover that money and a bit more.
he can also play right side which is why he could replace sissoko

He's more like a Sissoko who can pass the ball consistencly well and possesses a real goal threat.

I wouldn't allow anyone in the first 22-ish to leave, unless we get a replacement (which is hard). A couple injuries in the same position is to be expected at some point. The only position where I think we can easily cope with that at the moment is out wide with Son, Bale, Moura, Lamela and Berwijn, as well as GLC being able to play there - perhaps one of those could leave, but its unlikely I'd imagine

Obviously allow Rose and Gedson to leave if we can and if there are takers; some younger players who are nearing the make-or-break age to leave on loan
