Transfer Tittle-Tattle

If you believe reports Poch has turned down four players where the club had reached agreements.

Do you think there's any chance the club would have invested all the time and energy needed to negotiate transfers, without running the names past Poch beforehand? Unless it was during the 2 weeks he was off rafting and jet-skiing down the Amazon without a phone signal

For me we've clearly had 4 primary targets all summer. The names Ndombele, Clarke, Lo Celso and Sessegnon were the 4 names in June, and are still the 4 names today.

I think if they're being offered up as options should primary targets fall through or be too difficult, then yes time would be invested. If we don't have contingencies in place I'd be shocked.

Do we need contingencies to Lo Celso and Sessegnon? Isn't the alternative just to keep using Eriksen/Alli/Lamela and Son/Moura/Rose respectively. Poch's whole thing is that he wants the right player or nobody.

I know its unpopular but I lean towards giving Levy the benefit of the doubt too. It's a shame anyone that comes in will have missed preseason but if one or two make it before the deadline that I think we can be happy enough

Well thats the other thing.

While obviously its ideal to get everyone in in the first week of the window so they have time to bed down etc...

...We actually have a team right now more than capable of starting the season and starting it well.

None of these buys are so essential that our seasons success depends on them being in early.

Who advises these players?

Racism is vile, but it’s Russia so it’s not a shock and this has happened before

Agent and player gets x2 their % of the sale fees. Is that too cynical?

Getting such a limited player a move to Barca in the first place was a brilliant bit of deception by someone

The whole move was very strange from the beginning.

The really odd bit for me though - surely of all people Zenit should have seen this coming? And yet they went ahead and signed him anyway!

Can a player be transferred twice in the same window???

We are trying to sign a player (Lo Celso) has already transferred once in this window.

I believe the rule is about how many teams you can play for in a year.

Something at the back of my mind is that it's 'clubs who have held your registration'. As Celso's was a loan with a permanent option, his registration may not have gone back to PSG, and that could be the difference?

It's to do with who holds the players registration - Betis already had Lo Celso's from last season so the rule does not apply.
