Transfer thread

Wharton and Ndiaye would be amazing.

Who would be our third and final signing of the summer?

Apologies, I forgot for a minute that we're Spurs. We need at least 5 more signings and no academy promotions to make sure we stay average.:tearsofjoy:

I'm mostly on board with your 2-3 big signings train of thought but I don't think that needs to be mutually exclusive to also picking up free/cheap options to strengthen other areas too. I would approach the window working back from those big signings, earmark funds for them and then see what you can do with the remaining budget. Not signings for signings sake but if there are players out there who can make an improvement to the squad then I see no reason to not make these sorts of signings also

I do like the idea of working backwards from the big signings. However, it means you have to be very aggressive and be willing to overpay. What we do is try to grind out a deal over an entire summer and mostly miss out. Not sure exactly what day we're allowed to trade in the PL but I'd already be making those offers to Palace and Everton and chatting to player agents. I hope we are but doubt we are.

I'm absolutely OK overpaying for these 2 players and missing out on others.

Where I'm on the fence is Senesi and Robertson. We want to be a CL club but are looking at players that CL clubs don't seem to be touching. What do they know that we don't? Do these two give us even more mediocrity at Spurs. We've made loads of these signings over the years. I bet those CL clubs would snatch our hands off for Vuskovic if we gave them any encouragement. Senesi blocking Luca's path doesn't feel right to me.

Honestly, dog brick.
How can anyone look at him and go, yeah... he is what we need.
Her had a hot spell and people are extrapolating that as matching the entire season. 1 season wonders are one thing but 1 hot spell players are even worse.

He had a couple of good patches at Leeds too.
Would be a useful impact player from the bench.

If there are doubts about Odobert or Kulu being able to be first team ready, then he'd be ok as a cheap signing.
Kulu I think will come back and play centrally and we'll probably see him and Madders rotate a lot to manage their fitness, with Moore also being in that mix. (I wouldn't expect to see Xavi until February)
That leaves Kudus as a starter wide player. Tel as on on the cusp starter. Odobert as from the bench.
We should be looking to sign a starter level wide player, but if Odobert isn't fit then Summerville wouldn't be terrible. His pace and direct running suit RDZ quite well.
