Transfer thread

i think Wharton is the one (realistic) player I’d want us to go out and get this window. I know we need a serious striker / winger as well but the options there don’t really jump out at me the same way Wharton does for the CM slot.
He's just won a European trophy and will be Europe next year.
Why would he move to a team that finished 17th last year?

He'll have plenty of suitors better than us.
The only hope we have is if he wants to stay in London.

We need to be realistic - this will be a tough window. Hayden Hackney might be possible.

I suspect because long term the expectations would be for Palace to regress, players leave there and it can only have a short period of success. If I was there I would be thinking "yeh we ain't having another 2 years like this"

ohhhhhhhh and money

Could say the same about Senesi and Robertson couldn’t you…

Barcelona of what period? The 90s and 00s they are not anymore. He is one of the best in his position in the PL. 70m for him is a very decent deal.

He will do very well out there
Was about to say the same, this isn't prime Barca with Messi et al up front. Raphina was decent but hardly a world beater and has been their main man there.

Gordon is a very good player and 70m for him at 25 years of age and best years ahead is a decent deal....

Considering how much has been spent over the years its actually a good deal. 17 goals from the left this season 10 in the CL. Just the sort of player a top side wants and needs. Gets lots of goals and lots of assist, who doesn't want to pay for that
