Transfer thread

Thing is, we will get Xavi back in Jan, Odobert somewhat around that time, Deki is threatening to be back before November, Maddison too...so we could have

Savio
Kudus
Tel
Marmoush
Xavi
Odobert
Deki
Maddison

As it stands right now, we would have to sell at least two, maybe three for space. We are obviously being far more conservative in our fitness/conditioning programs, so it is fair to say that the three we currently have out could well be joined by two more at any given moment. So bringing in an extra player in this profile SHOULD (IMO) only be a loan/squad depth at this point.

IF you agree with that thinking, the only debate then would be whether we should've kept Moore. I don't think so. He is at a moment where can go on and grow into a VERY special player with a good loan - which it appears he has got.

If it closes tomm with 'the loanee wide' and a straight Danso out Tosin in swap, we still have 11 Prem goals plus Solanke and Marmoush (who can play in several profiles).

If we can look overall, this is a far stronger position than we were in, albeit there are some of us who are concerned about the lack of heading abilities from set-pieces.

I am utterly confused at if Vinai and Lange are for Spurs or against Spurs. For some reason, we seem weaker at the end of the window than at the beginning.

Dunno about weaker but i don't think the needle has moved much despite the high number of transfers in - central midfield being the exception, Fernandez looks a great signing and Tonali is an improvement on our other options even if nowhere near a 100m pound player.

Saw a gif earlier of a bunch of skill merchants playing keep-ball against a team of kids and the caption read : Savio Ndiaye Kudus v Coventry when Tottenham are 3 nil down 😂

For all the money we have spent I'm struggling to see where the goals are going to come from. Hopefully we become more solid as the players settle in to the tactics
Hopefully so. It’s a concern. I got a feeling we will see at times some good football. Just got a feeling we will lack goals. Maybe a bit leaky at the back to.

Still very unbalanced. If results don't start coming, both we and De Zerbi are in trouble.

I know I’ve gone early but I just think we lack goals in that lot up top. It’s a worry. As ever happy to be proven wrong.

That's the biggest concern, and (frankly) why I'm relieved that (currently) Richy is still with us. I have to say, had Mateta not got injured I wonder if we'd have gone for him?

We won't get Xavi or Odobert back until the Spring unfortunately, and even then they won't be back to full match fitness and sharpness.

I'm not expecting either to contribute anything significant this season.

No it’s a massive concern. But I’m hoping Marmoush can be the one, especially with savio and kudus opening teams up. Who knows Solanke may come good.. I’m clutching but I’m all in like I said.

I hear Xavi late Jan but he thinks December and is working for that. I agree, late Jan feels right and I think we'll have to restrain him frankly!

it’s going to be very interesting that’s for certain. I do wonder about Kruopi . Maybe he was the no 1 target pre broken foot.

There's a definite lack of physicality within the squad, but that's the manager's choice apparently. I suppose Danso's been told he was considered a back-up, which is why he wants to leave. I'm not sure you can succeed with such a lightweight first XI in the Premier League, but we will soon find out. We wanted the club to back the manager so we got our wish. At the very least, our midfield will be better and more balanced that last season's and there should also be a lot of movement off the ball. Hopefully, that's enough for a decent showing.

I suspect that is the case, yes.
Again though, it tells us RDZ is less concerned about height than perhaps I/some of us are.

Xavi is mooted to be back in the spring, which essentially rules him out as a concern this season. I doubt Kulusevski will have much if any impact for a good long while - Maddison being injured straight away doesn't fill me with confidence with him either. No idea on Odobert

Tel
Savio
Solanke
Richarlison
Marmoush
A back from long term injury Kudus + a Mudryk who hasn't kicked a ball in 2 years and looked totally brick in the PL prior

For the first half of the season, with maybe some input from Maddison and Kulusevski.

It's not a good looking attack

Sometimes you need a battering ram. That lot proved that and won a league like that.
Awful to watch effective from set piece.

Got a feeling we will be pretty to watch but no bite.
