*** Tottenham Hotspur Vs Forest *** OMT

I have us, taking into account how well other sides have been put together and the quality of player at 7th currently. Thats nothing to do with me being ok with that, I literally have no choice but to accept it
I'd say that's fair. But it's not even about where we are positionally for me, it's the lack of a plan with the ball - it's painful to watch. I could stomach us being where we are in the league if there was some semblance of a style being developed but the reality is we have still not progressed from chucking it in the box and hoping something will happen.

He just doesn't convince me that he's the guy who's going to take us through the rebuild. But regardless of my feelings towards him, some of the players need to have a good hard look at themselves....

I live less than an hour away and I've been finding it increasingly hard to rationalise giving up my time over the past 5 years - last season very nearly killed it off.

At least you're only giving up a weekend - trying doing it every week 😂
I do have a season ticket mate. Missed a few this season for various reasons but the ones I’ve been to have been dreadful and I’m expecting nothing else from next weekend.

I think we are on the same sort of waive length.

I thought we were getting somewhere with odobert/Gray/Berg starting games

But hes even binned this off now.

Mopo had the brains to realise it was the seniors pros letting him down and did something about it.

The whole Cm midfield needs an overhaul.

Only ones I would keep is Gray and Berg, not sure I would be paying anywhere near 30 million for Paul

Sarr/Paul/Bent all very average, maybe do one or two things well, but not good enough for top 6.
No one is buying a midfielder who can’t pass
Did wonder when he was at Fulham how good he was
Apparently he has been our best player though so that shows how brick we have been
And let’s be fair, he has had some really good games when we have been horrendously ugly

I’d be delighted with top 8! I said 5th to 9th in that pre season poll of expectations.

I think you and seemingly a few other posters are guilty of taking an extreme view by individuals and arguing against that like it’s the commonly held view. Us being good enough for top 4 or Vic better than Raya would be views held by Less than 0.1% of the fan base id guess.

Maybe it not the majority view, but I’ve seen plenty of posters say the likes of Johnson and Richarlison are good enough for example too. I’m actually not that annoyed with the results themselves, it’s the drab performances that I’m fed up of. I want to enjoy watching us which I haven’t seen the Poch days consistently.

Seems he turns corners to walk into walls and wonders why he has a bloody nose

He has had some decent games, but he is to limited.

Off the top of my head I can't think of a player in the top 6 who is just a destroyer.

They can also play a pass

I think we all want those days back but the perfect storm of a league in transition plus us having outstanding players in every position and a competent manager have passed us by without a pot unfortunately.

Whether you rate him highly or not surely you can see that his profile as a player is that of what we are missing right now and what no other midfielder in our squad offers?

It's not sustainable either way having so few players comfortable on the ball in the middle of the pitch

And Kulu too! The one other player who's comfortable on the ball. Arguably our best player for two-thirds of last season.

That fantastic start to the season created the buffer. Once those games passed this current form and malaise has actually become the norm.
I think it was that accidental period where the players still didn't quite understand his "philosophy", so they were still getting into defensive positions sometimes out of habit and managing to look like they had a clue as footballers ;)

I think one thing we need to do is not judge the attack until defence and midfield get their act together. They need supply, and they need runners.

Today Bentancur was poor, Spence was poor, and Porro was poor so three players that should be supporting the attack were awful on the ball and in their movement.

This is why the way we are playing is important and it seems like we went back to keeping shape instead of looking for stuff with the ball. Also, looking to go via the wings nearly every time isn't the solution.

...and also let our new attack settle! We have no attacking players starting from last season! Muani and Simons need time to settle. And we need to sign someone for the left.

There's a bit of a fixation on manager vs players. But it is more about letting a side gel, and refining how they play imo. And that takes time, especially with a number of younger players who will make mistakes - as happened today for Forests first goal. Once behind, its a tough ask against them. But we did not play well. Simple passes were off. That kind of thing is not Frank is it? Vicario not saving a cross isn't on Frank is it?

I agree, and I back Frank, but it should be hard tactical no that we don't fudge around in our own box, if the ball is at Vic's feet, it should be going 80 yards, every time.

I said before, we are going to be inconsistent for the time being and that's what we are seeing. But there are still green shoots even out of an awful result. Xavi is looking more comfortable with every game. Gray despite his mistake looked decent and picked himself up well. Muani I really liked. A few players though need to work on their short passing . But Forest pressed us well and our heads went down after the second goal. Richarlison was again ineffective as a number 9. Not sure why he isn't out on the left and Muani in the middle. Really hope we can have Solanke match fit after Christmas. Think he will link up well with the forwards.

There was no green shoots today. We reverted to type barely being able to pass a ball to a teammate and having no clue how to attack beyond chucking it into the box and having their CBs gobble it up. If only we were playing Brentford at home every week....

Judging by the players reactions when we lose they don’t stone em as having any faith in what they are being asked to do

Maybe
I mean you could sack Frank tomorrow and nothing would be worse on the pitch
People may think we have bad players
I don’t. I think we have better player than what we have seen a lot
I don’t think the coaching is adding anything and I don’t see much leadership at times
Both are really important in this league

I think we have a good enough team to be challenging for Europa League places. I just think everyone we got at the moment is either pragmatic or attacking (applies to Ange only). We are not going for anyone that is balanced. This is why our squad is never going to push on because we have to over haul the negative or creative players to switch the balance again.

It's time we went for someone who had a plan that involves playing football. We only hire those managers.

I thought Xavi played ok and is looking stronger and Gray too, mistake aside. But agree about the inability to pass even simply to each other
