Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

So two things... the football pitch rolls out onto the NFL pitch.

1 - I still don't understand how the guide rails are covered/filled in on the NFL pitch.

2 - Im struggling to have 400% confidence that the seams between the football pitch trays are invisible, surely they would be noticable?

Imagine the lawsuit should a player be injured as a result of either of these potential trip/dip hazards.
1. You're probably not an engineer

I too struggle to accept the idea of the dividing pitch being seemless at the joins - but the point you make re Lyon (though i think it's actually Lille?) Is a good one - i forgot they had a pitch which splits on the half way line

Yes. I don't know how it's done in detail, but I know the principles, and that it works. Otherwise they wouldn't have done it. Lyon also have a split pitch, and you can't see the split.

Yeah I get the principles. Clear as crystal. The dividing pitch is easier to understand, it’s just one hell of a tight joint. Still easy to imagine how a sliding tackle over the seam might catch a lip. I really want to see how the tracks on the NFL pitch are covered or in filled.

Don't we have a split pitch at the training ground which has been tried and tested.

Velcro apparently!

I know it’s neither a new nor an interesting thought, but I’d really have expected the naming rights deal to be done by now. If it drags on until next year, it’ll be NWHL however much Fedex or Audi or Panda Cola claim otherwise.

So basically you don't fully understand it.

You trust it works, as do I, but the suggestion that we have a clear idea of how the rails are covered and exposed is nonsense. We have to pick at scraps for information on this.
I understand how it works, but haven't seen the exact details of what materials they use or the shape of it! That's totally different to not understanding. Read it again! They obviously cover the tracks, but i don't know if it's shaped infill that fits in the track, or just simple overlaying layers.
But the astroturf is knittet together with a sort of velcro.

Snooker tables are made of 3 different pieces of slate, and even with the level of precision in that game, you don't notice the joins

I was quite relieved by that post until I googled and found out that the sections are then fixed in place, with beeswax used as a filler, before the turf - sorry, baize - is stretched and stapled in place. Now I’m less certain that the analogy holds.

You said you fully understand it. Clearly you don’t.
