*** Tottenham Hotspur FC vs South Coast Big Club OMT ***

that'll do spurs, that'll do.

p.s. some of you and your abuse to our team is a fudging disgrace.

We all support the team, and will be back on Wednesday.

But we have every right to call out a crap performance when we see one. And that was one.

This is Tottenham Hotspur, and I'm afraid the result isn't everything.

We got very lucky.

We have so many players without the quality required. One or two shots on target at home against a poor side...

Anyway more and more impressed with Walker. He looks focused and doing well at the moment.

Lennon shouldnt start. Did nothing again. Just seen walcott score, why cant he do that? Why does he keep playing doing nothing?

Or use him for the last 20minutes against tired legs, but the idea of starting him and taking him off with 30minutes to play is ridiculous. Thats when he could actually use his pace.

Tottenham Hotspur ‏@SpursOfficial

That is @GarethBale11 20th Premier League goal - first Spurs player to do so since Jurgen Klinsmann in 1994-95. And in his 200th appearance!

That is so embarrassing

Well at least we now have 3 players who've had 20+ goal seasons since the Premier League started, Sheringham in 92/93 (who is still our last Golden Boot winner), Klinsmann and now Bale.

Although considering that feat has been achieved 42 times over the years (8x by Scum) then perhaps a club of our stature really should have more.

100% agree. Bale does it again but what would it be without him...

If you are (somewhat ridiculously) giving AVB all the credit for Bales miraculous performances, they you equally have to blame him fot the total ineptidute of the rest of the team.

Of course I'm not giving him all the credit - not sure where you think you read that. But the manager setting up most of our front line to play to Bale's strengths is down to him.

As for the other players, they're all playing the way they did last season - including Modric & VDV - they're just doing it for other clubs. In fact, most of the team is playing better than they were at this point last season. Those who hated this performance must have really short memories because we played like Real Madrid today compared with our collapse last year.

Agree. Stevie Wonder could see how brick that peformance was. Yes we won, but we all have a right to say how crap we were.

What was the alternative? Leave him double marked in the middle or switch Lennon to the left meaning that BAE had to become the overlapping fullback (not quick enough) and Walker had to be the sitting one (not disciplined enough).

Hudd did perfectly well in the middle. Some good passing, very important blocks and very little of their play came through the middle - the problems were mainly CBs switching off in the channels.

Also, Defoe & Ade together there changed the game. I don't rate either of them this season, but it worked.

Play siggy on the left, bale on the right, ade in the middle.
Defoe and Ade did nothing together but as soon as Ade came on we started being a more successful lumping high balls in. This had nothing to with Defoe or any combination of Defoe and Ade.
Hudd himself did fine but when he's in a 2 man midfield there is no running support through the middle. They is a huge gap between hudd and holtby (who had to play near him) and the strikers. This is because Hudd has to play so deep to get time on the ball.

Well at least we know we won't be as bad as today against Chelsea, I'm beginning to look forward to our away games more so than our home games!

Plenty of effort again, little inspiration again. Why do we make very ordinary sides look like Real Madrid? First seventy minutes they dominated and were the only side that looked like scoring. Up until Bale's goal, we had four shots on goal. FOUR! You cannot compete for champions league places being that impotent up front. We must work the opposition keepers more.

Totally untrue. just totally and utterly untrue (even in that "collapse" we convincingly beat teams..bolton, Blackburn, Fulham all convincing wins that we haven't done this season during the "collapse").

Under AVB:

Parker, Walker, Ade, and Ekotto have all regressed badly.

Defoe, Lennon and Dawson are at the same level.

Bale and Sandro have improved.

How come you're so quick to celebrate AVB regarding Bale and parker (you was one of the people on that Reading thread that had the audacity to insinuate that AVB was the reason Parker was passing forward...in a sub appearance ffs) but you say nothing about the players that regressed?

BTW, that's a new club Premier League record for the highest number of points scored (65) after 35 matches.
