The 'If You Still Need to Purge Yourself Of Ange' Thread

Does this thread need to exist?

For some.
Why can there not be an acceptance of everyone's differing views on this and a 'move on'?
Why is there this continual need in some quarters to 'explain' to others why the decision was right (or wrong for that matter)? NOBODY knows. It's unanswerable. There are only guesses and opinions. Which are wonderful, but they've all been shared!!!!!

Meant it more in the perspective of personal conflict, i.e. some people have both feelings ..

In the end it will be all opinions, and one doesn't negate the other ..

All good mate, we all still have the fudging Spurs bug, it's what drives us mad in the end

Amen!

A discussion is absolutely that. The rehashing of opinions which have not wavered from January 2025 (and earlier in some cases) is not discussion IMO, it is re-asserting some sort of 'I am right'...at the very least, it can provoke a response in the same cycle we've been in with Postecoglu the last 6 months.

Personally? Despite the fact I'd have gambled and gone with Postecoglu, I am moving on. What I wish was that people could acknowledge what he did as much as what he didn't, and stop denigrating the trophy we won; especially in non-Ange threads.
That's all.
If people want to bitch about him, wonderful, have at it, I personally don't want to open up unrelated threads and see them hijacked.

I'm going to add a poll at the top of this. Let's see what happens.

To state the obvious and reword what I said previously, a thread about an incoming manager and discussion regarding the new era will always involve discussion about what was here before and what and how things will/might change - I'm not interested in policing how or where people choose to discuss things (unless the obvious exceptions) i suspect talk relating to Ange will be ongoing for a good while yet.

If 'stating the obvious' is what we're doing here, let me re-word what I was trying to offer with this new thread; a place where all manner of Ange discussions can happen freely without derailing the Thomas Frank thread.
That's all.
There's a pretty big difference between 'policing' and expressing an opinion/offering an alternative),thus this is simply offering an option via a personal opinion.
If people don't want it, delete the thread!

...while I'm here, expressing my opinion on Ange and the various counter views, here's something to share...

...just because some of us (I include myself) wanted to see where an Ange - Spurs would've gone next season given the intangible gold dust of a trophy and the psychological bonds it forges, it doesn't mean we don't undersrtand that the bloke presided over 22 defeats. We get it. I personally chose to add the context of injuries and club mistakes to the mix (alongside some failings of Ange's too). That I did so does not make my opinion/that opinion any more or less accurate than anyone else's. I really don't need someone banging on at me about '22 defeats' all over again. As it happens, I think the direction we have chosen is best for this club and how it operates in all senses (I've been clear about that in other threads). But people telling me that 'if' Postecoglu had stayed 'we'd have been in this state by October' and telling me with a factual air what 'would've' gone wrong? Nah. Not having it. You don't know. You're guessing just like I am. And that's all good, different opinions, right? Right!

I personally think there was an over rotation on the injury / fatigue topic by many including yourself. It was difficult for people like myself who totally believed that it was a major factor to keep listening to the repetitiveness of it. I didn't need reminding week after week about it's impact as I had made my own assessments on Ange factoring it in. In my opinion, the context of injuries discussion has taken way too much air time on the pods as a candid example. It became it's own campaign by you guys. Clearly, the posters don't get the same opportunity and therefore use the threads as their own forum for repetitive case building on their topics du jour. I'm guilty as charged and have been trying to rein it in.

As an FYI, the problem with the poll is in the wording i.e. you can't vote No in a way that doesn't call you a numpty. You're clearly not a numpty but people need to be able to vote no. So they will abstain and the results won't be authentic. We need to be voting on the worthiness of the thread, not character assassinating your good self.

What might be an idea is to have a "compare and contrast" thread on Frank and our prior managers as the pre-season starts. I bet there will be some amazing football conversations about tactical system differences, formations, individual players etc. It shouldn't just be Frank compared to Ange either. It should include all our recent managers for the football connoisseurs to have a proper football conversation. I cannot wait to see how Frank sets us up. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Conte to Ange transition of the tactical system.

Comparison isn’t derailment.

And c’mon @thfcsteff you’ve spent the last 6 months banging on about context at every opportunity, and 6 years bringing up Poch

Goose, gander, etc etc

What tinkles me off are those who throw snide shots at Ange suggesting he was incompetent, that winning the Europa was not as big as it was etc. I even read someone calling him a waste of space. That personally irritates me and I rather manage it by walking away. Some Spurs' fans are very arrogant in my mind. I can't stand arrogant people.

Frankly (no pun intended LOL) that is what I should do. I think the lowest point was when someone called him a 'piece of brick' and then doubled down.
I'm getting there...

The lowest post for me was easily this absolute garbage: https://www.glory-glory.co.uk/threads/ange-departs.12081/page-408#post-1909309

,Back at my hotel room. Hate Ange, hate this team. Thought we might just fluke our way to a trophy, but no chance of that. Get the fudge out of my club you clam.

Shameful. Some funny stuff around it though, where that poster completely wrote off any chance of winning the final
