Thanks Ange for all you did for us and helping us getting that trophy monkey off our backs
Amen to that.
Thanks Ange for all you did for us and helping us getting that trophy monkey off our backs
For some.
Why can there not be an acceptance of everyone's differing views on this and a 'move on'?
Why is there this continual need in some quarters to 'explain' to others why the decision was right (or wrong for that matter)? NOBODY knows. It's unanswerable. There are only guesses and opinions. Which are wonderful, but they've all been shared!!!!!
Meant it more in the perspective of personal conflict, i.e. some people have both feelings ..
In the end it will be all opinions, and one doesn't negate the other ..
All good mate, we all still have the fudging Spurs bug, it's what drives us mad in the end
A discussion is absolutely that. The rehashing of opinions which have not wavered from January 2025 (and earlier in some cases) is not discussion IMO, it is re-asserting some sort of 'I am right'...at the very least, it can provoke a response in the same cycle we've been in with Postecoglu the last 6 months.
Personally? Despite the fact I'd have gambled and gone with Postecoglu, I am moving on. What I wish was that people could acknowledge what he did as much as what he didn't, and stop denigrating the trophy we won; especially in non-Ange threads.
That's all.
If people want to bitch about him, wonderful, have at it, I personally don't want to open up unrelated threads and see them hijacked.
I'm going to add a poll at the top of this. Let's see what happens.
To state the obvious and reword what I said previously, a thread about an incoming manager and discussion regarding the new era will always involve discussion about what was here before and what and how things will/might change - I'm not interested in policing how or where people choose to discuss things (unless the obvious exceptions) i suspect talk relating to Ange will be ongoing for a good while yet.
...while I'm here, expressing my opinion on Ange and the various counter views, here's something to share...
...just because some of us (I include myself) wanted to see where an Ange - Spurs would've gone next season given the intangible gold dust of a trophy and the psychological bonds it forges, it doesn't mean we don't undersrtand that the bloke presided over 22 defeats. We get it. I personally chose to add the context of injuries and club mistakes to the mix (alongside some failings of Ange's too). That I did so does not make my opinion/that opinion any more or less accurate than anyone else's. I really don't need someone banging on at me about '22 defeats' all over again. As it happens, I think the direction we have chosen is best for this club and how it operates in all senses (I've been clear about that in other threads). But people telling me that 'if' Postecoglu had stayed 'we'd have been in this state by October' and telling me with a factual air what 'would've' gone wrong? Nah. Not having it. You don't know. You're guessing just like I am. And that's all good, different opinions, right? Right!
