The Goon Thread - Officially Second In A One Horse Race

West Ham got tanked by United last week, they are garbage.

Tanked isn’t a true reflection of the match itself. West Ham weren’t as poor as the score is suggested. Onana has been staring to perform nearer to the levels that people would have expected from him in recent weeks. He made a couple of key saves earlier against McGinn and Watkins and maybe others that I don’t recall and was good against West Ham.

I also think that United will ultimately finish 5th. I think Villa are falling away and will finish lower than United.

I, as well as so many others, was sure that it would happen today but the reality was as far removed from that that it’s possible to be.

Makes me question whether I am massively underrating them. I hope not only because I thought Arsenal were significantly overhyped and over excited after one good season but here we are. I don’t really understand it. I don’t want to understand it. It’s not good.
Wait, you thought West Ham would get something yesterday? In the form they are in? And you think their were many others with that opinion as well?!

Not necessarily get a result, but make it difficult for them at the very least. They came back from 0-2 against them last season. To be 4-0 at HT is pathetic. As Bishop said, they are apathetic towards Arsenal. No way their fans would accept them being 4-0 down to us at home at HT.

They all just shrugged their shoulders and fudged off home. Absolute losers

exactly why I’m surprised to hear anyone thought they’d get something from the game as el guerdapo said.

A Quick Look at the bookies and a draw was 3/1, west ham win 5/1 and Goons odds on to win 1/2. Before the game I would have made the bookies right personally. Not suggesting I thought 6-0, but a Goon win by a couple of goals certainly.

I did. Yes. West Ham have a good recent record against Arsenal given the expectations of the two clubs. West Ham have players in Bowen and Kudus that can make a significant difference in any match plus with Ward-Prowse there set pieces can usually be dangerous. Arsenal could have been too arrogant after their win against Liverpool.

But instead Arsenal turned up and to the maximum effect. A great performance and result for them. I was wrong.

Perhaps it was a statement win...

If it mattered that WH needed to lose against arse to stop us from winning anything they would do that! ..that's what their fans would want!
So in conclusion it was pretty much odds on that they were going to lose this weekend as we moved into an outside possible title challenge.
OK, I'm paranoid...why wouldn't I be?

Less tinfoil hat view

- brick club with players who generally don't give a brick, but raise their game once a year against us to keep the neanderthal fan base happy.

Please don't joke about brick like this! He's a free and I wouldn't put it past them to cover his wages, something no one other than PSG, Madrid, Man U, Chelsea? and City can do. If Madrid can't/won't stump up the wages, and City don't want him, the goons could be in the driving seat!!!
