Care to retract your statement?
You said you forced them to have time off. And the retracted and said you offered it.
You lied and then switched when you got worried you had told one you couldn't back up.

I've experienced the opposite.
I've seen the number of mistakes, accidents and near misses increase significantly during fasting. To the point where a few who absolutely couldn't cope had to take annual leave whilst fasting.
Well I'm the one who forced them to take the leave, I don't think that was the plan beforehand.
I’m not sure forcing employees to take leave is legal.... You could find yourself in trouble here Scara... Even more so as you are discriminating on religious grounds.
If you really have done this (and I don’t believe you would actually be so stupid) then I suggest you stop doing so immediately and keep your fingers crossed that an employee doesn’t contact an employment lawyer now or at some point in the future.
It is illegal. Religious belief is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. Forcing someone to take leave because of their religious belief would fall foul of both the direct and indirect discrimination clauses.
I didn't ask, I just gave them the option of being at home unpaid or taking annual leave because I'm nice like that.
Unless they want to kill the entire population of gaza then they won't be able to. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and just as every Catholic killed in N. Ireland recruited another 2 for the IRA, every Hamas fighter killed by Israel is used to recruit 2 more. There's never ending cycles here of "those bustards killed my dad/mum, brother/sister, mate, child etc etc" and while I understand the Israeli operation in Gaza it will not be successful and will and is losing Israel international support that it needs. And by understand the Israeli operation i mean eradicating Hamas is a legitimate aim but its also unachievable because Hamas is not a nice neat organisation and really is pretty indistinguishable from the civilian population of Gaza and so while I do not believe Israel set out to create genocide, mass genocide in Gaza is effectively the only way to eradicate Hamas.I suspect Israel can kill terrorists faster than Hamas can breed them. If the international community would just stay the fudge out of the way, it will work eventually.

He thinks “struggle cuddle” is a funny substitute for “rape”.We have explained this stuff to Scara before but because it doesn't suit his prejudices he ignores facts and answers with flippant remarks rather than any meaningful responses. He used to be a decent debater on here. It's a shame really.
Internationally recognised two-state solution with the hardliners on both sides marginalised is the only real way to go and while "Trump Gaza" has become a meme, international investment in Palestine to increase living standards, generate international trade and reduce simmering injustices is the only route out of this....We have explained this stuff to Scara before but because it doesn't suit his prejudices he ignores facts and answers with flippant remarks rather than any meaningful responses. The current party in govt of Israel has run on a manifesto to never have 2 states since before Hamas even existed.Internationally recognised two-state solution with the hardliners on both sides marginalised is the only real way to go and while "Trump Gaza" has become a meme, international investment in Palestine to increase living standards, generate international trade and reduce simmering injustices is the only route out of this....
Israel hasnt had a secular liberal democratic alternative since the assassination in 1995. The religious nutjob fascists have pretty much wiped them out over the past 30 years.Internationally recognised two-state solution with the hardliners on both sides marginalised is the only real way to go and while "Trump Gaza" has become a meme, international investment in Palestine to increase living standards, generate international trade and reduce simmering injustices is the only route out of this....

Not much you can say about that except I truly hope is wife is not ever the victim of a “struggle cuddle”.
Yeah so will be up to west to force the issue. Particularly the US. The US were really crucial in bringing the IRA to the table in NI peace negotiations as they made continued US support for the case for a united Ireland conditional on the IRA getting round a table and similarly that allowed us to make continued British support for NI remaining in the UK conditional on a cessation of unionist hostilities. The current party in govt of Israel has run on a manifesto to never have 2 states since before Hamas even existed.
It wasnt strictly that strategic. Americans stopping funding the IRA after their own experience with 9-11 was the more organic driverYeah so will be up to west to force the issue. The US need to make continued support and protection for Israel conditional on compromise.

Anecdotal only but I know a lot of attitudes in the US towards the IRA changed after 9/11. Regardless of the Good Friday agreement, there was still support and collections for the IRA going on, before 9/11.Hardly.
Good Friday Agreement 1998

John Major opening secret negotiations with the IRA was actually the biggest catalystNot disagrreing with that at all but the timings of Gutterboy's response to SillyMSF - that the US wasn't a strategic effort and the hard yards to get everyone in NI around the table. All that strategy went on 3 to 6 years before 9/11.
Benjamin Netanyahu has made it very clear a two state solution will not happen on his watch. Has any Israeli politician come out & said this is an optionInternationally recognised two-state solution with the hardliners on both sides marginalised is the only real way to go and while "Trump Gaza" has become a meme, international investment in Palestine to increase living standards, generate international trade and reduce simmering injustices is the only route out of this....
That doesn't change the fact that it is the long-term solution to ending conflict in the region...Benjamin Netanyahu has made it very clear a two state solution will not happen on his watch. Has any Israeli politician come out & said this is an option
I'm 57 & will be long dead before a 2 state solution is even considered. I hope I am wrongThat doesn't change the fact that it is the long-term solution to ending conflict in the region...
