You said you forced them to have time off. And the retracted and said you offered it.

I've experienced the opposite.

I've seen the number of mistakes, accidents and near misses increase significantly during fasting. To the point where a few who absolutely couldn't cope had to take annual leave whilst fasting.

Well I'm the one who forced them to take the leave, I don't think that was the plan beforehand.

I’m not sure forcing employees to take leave is legal.... You could find yourself in trouble here Scara... Even more so as you are discriminating on religious grounds.

If you really have done this (and I don’t believe you would actually be so stupid) then I suggest you stop doing so immediately and keep your fingers crossed that an employee doesn’t contact an employment lawyer now or at some point in the future.

It is illegal. Religious belief is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. Forcing someone to take leave because of their religious belief would fall foul of both the direct and indirect discrimination clauses.

I didn't ask, I just gave them the option of being at home unpaid or taking annual leave because I'm nice like that.

I suspect Israel can kill terrorists faster than Hamas can breed them. If the international community would just stay the fudge out of the way, it will work eventually.

Unless they want to kill the entire population of gaza then they won't be able to. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter and just as every Catholic killed in N. Ireland recruited another 2 for the IRA, every Hamas fighter killed by Israel is used to recruit 2 more. There's never ending cycles here of "those bustards killed my dad/mum, brother/sister, mate, child etc etc" and while I understand the Israeli operation in Gaza it will not be successful and will and is losing Israel international support that it needs. And by understand the Israeli operation i mean eradicating Hamas is a legitimate aim but its also unachievable because Hamas is not a nice neat organisation and really is pretty indistinguishable from the civilian population of Gaza and so while I do not believe Israel set out to create genocide, mass genocide in Gaza is effectively the only way to eradicate Hamas.

He thinks “struggle cuddle” is a funny substitute for “*struggle cuddle*”.
Not much you can say about that except I truly hope is wife is not ever the victim of a “struggle cuddle”.

Internationally recognised two-state solution with the hardliners on both sides marginalised is the only real way to go and while "Trump Gaza" has become a meme, international investment in Palestine to increase living standards, generate international trade and reduce simmering injustices is the only route out of this....
