Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Who said anything about a significant change in pattern? She said she had been presented with complaints about anti social behaviour, violence and litering on Greenway Road. There isnt anything relating to a significant change in pattern.

She said residents had also complained that police didn't come when called. This isnt unusual. Littering is a council matter not a police matter and reports of anti social behaviour can often involve the fact that a big group of lads are hanging about on a corner. That doesnt change the fact that MPs are often the next port of call with these kind of concerns and a big part of local policing and constituency MP work is sorting the constant local complaints from the serious issues that need looking at. None of which means that the MP was lying or not doing her duty to raise issues she herself has been highlighted. As ive said it is 10-a-penny for an MP to do a video about local complaints regarding crime and littering. If it was a labour MP nobody would have batted an eyelid. Which is the entire point.
If she feels slighted there's 3 people she can sue ...the police, the residents, the BBC.

I'm not sure why the police will make things up (in this case anyway), ditto the residents. So she could argue the reporting is unfair...but the BBC have spoken to all parties and reported their views. (Which sounds like non opinionated journalism to me).

A classic tactic is someone will escalate their response due to looking a bit silly when what they've said doesn't add up. Lashing out, rather than re-articulating themselves.

Not sure it's feeling slighted. More that she thinks people are lying. If she is suing it's because of that and trying to hold them to account. So it doesn't happen again.

Of course..that is the only grounds that makes sense of what she said. (ie I'll sue).
What I'm saying it's a stupid idea for the reasons I give. 100% she doesn't do it. She's fired off because she's being challenged. And it's not even challenged...other people are just giving their opinions.

Sorry caught up in the twitch scandal at the moment with ethan klein. So am pro sueing to hold people to account of their actions. People get away with far too much these days. The more they get away with, the more they take the tinkle.
That goes for both sides. Politicians should be sued as well for lying. Left or right.

Its not that the police "make stuff up" but there is clearly quite a lot of reports of the type of crime the MP described in the official crime statistics for the area in question. The police spokesman doesnt actually know what is going on in the local community and a lot of the stuff local residents have complained about to the MP won't even be crimed or recorded anywhere other than a Bobby's note book or a call log. The residents complaints that the MP cited were precisely that the police weren't interested. Which is a very common complaint when it comes to stuff like "anti-social behaviour".

My point is precisely that she hasn't been "proven to look a bit silly". She's in the position she is precisely because residents in her constituency feel exactly how she described and the BBC have interviewed the ones that find her divisive. As per previous it is a common thing for local MPs to do socials about local residents crime concerns - they dont get jumped on and every word disected and have every social media post and constituency surgery monitored and fact checked. Its a totally disproportionate approach to someone that isnt a senior politician, a party leader, minister or shadow minister but is a local MP and basically its purely down to the fact she's on of the very few Reform MPs.

She does look silly, taking that approach. She's a politician.

Where have the rest of your observations come from? I've only seen the news report and at face value not sure what is controversial?

Guess it must look silly a politician trying to do what she was voted in for.
Guess we'll find it hillarious if farage becomes pm.

The one posted didn't mention anything about sueing. Infact the clip of her she didn't say "illegal immigrants" or "residents". Just mentioned rubbish, anti social behaviour etc...
I was jesting with "suing" but there is a statement from her party and representatives in that clip that said they were considering legal action, a further search and it seems it's because she believes those not agreeing with her are not agreeing with her to smear her and her campaigns.

Politicians do most of there lying inside parliament so can't be prosecuted or sued. Sadly I can't see them changing that particular rule

Is this referring to that dip brick Reform woman, who claimed that most sexual assaults committed by immigrants were against white women? The same half wit, who when challenged could not produce any evidence to substantiate her claim? The same one who went on to say, Its what I feel? That right wing extremist plonker? If it is, yeah, I think she made a fool of her self, or as my dear departed dad would say, "you just made a right cnut of yourself!"

A link between asylum seekers and crime rates would have to see a change in pattern - otherwise it's just BAU crime for the area.

Your statement was that May 2025 showed high levels of crime - it doesn't, it shows a consistent level.

All pretty simple to understand really.
