***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur Football Club vs AFC Bournemouth***

Thought we were decent and unlucky not to get a point. At least it was watchable I guess.

But we lost. And we’re 14th more than halfway through the season. That’s just plain unacceptable. If you have standards, you don’t put up with that.

Sunday and today were better but the stark reality is that we’ve returned 1 point from 6 against Bournemouth and Sunderland. That shows how low a base we’re coming from.

Frank gets the season but I don’t see it getting any better before it gets significantly worse. Our run of fixtures in February looks daunting and could leave us teetering on the brink of a relegation fight if the likes of West Ham and Forest pick up.

Grim times.

We’ve picked up the 15th most points over the past 2.5 seasons / 87 PL matches, so I guess (considering our ongoing injury crisis plus the departure of a club legend last summer) 14th is progress!

I have no issue with Xavi mate, or Odobert or half this team, given the right coaching, a system with fundamentals (triangles, patterns, usage of width/pace/something) and the freedom to play at pace with tempo, we would do better (again, not saying we are top 4, but there is more in this side). And if the manager can't get more out of this side, he's got to go.
Agreed. But this is where we diverge in our views. If we accept that the players are poor because of Frank, then we need to also acknowledge that players like Tel, Odobert and Xavi before his sending off, have started to look decent because of him. Hence my call for patience.

I just watched the final 30 minutes of Saudi Sportswashing Machine v Leeds.
End to end to end to end to end to end chaos.
Both teams had multiple chances to win it.
Near the end, Schar of Saudi Sportswashing Machine got a nasty knee injury and was stretchered off.
The Saudi Sportswashing Machine crowd are screaming and screaming for everything.
Saudi Sportswashing Machine got a very cheap penalty due to a handball.
Then they got 12 minutes of extra time with the crowd screaming more and eventually got their winner.

The league is soooo tight this year, so many games that could go either way. Table is still so tight. But yes, after today I am looking down at Wet Spam, rather than chasing 5th.

Hire
If we had gone for Glasner? gladly would have taken that wager ..
Hire Glasner, if we don't do considerable surgery on the starting 11 let alone the squad we will be back here in 6 months and either you will have finally accepted the truth about this squad or you'll explaining why Glasner also needs to get sacked.

I've seen you say this about Conte, Ange and now Frank. None of them are faultless but maybe, just maybe you're overrating the squad we have and truthfully I have no idea why. It's bog standard with 0 stand out players. Not even a moments player to steal points in games where maybe we didn't deserve it. Bournemouth had that today in Semenyo.

Interestingly Glasner is struggling this season when having to negotiate 2 games a week.

And its not even just the quality, we are relying on a select handful of players who are fit to play week in week out in roles thay we literally have zero cover for. It's just a horrendously thought out squad and has been for a very long time

The same goals are constantly being given away. Shots from the edge of the box with a lack of closing even though there are players back. Crosses not being cut out or at least pressuring the player crossing it. I don't see any evidence that these issues are being addressed. Two defensive midfielders being played for most of the season and it seems they don't have instructions to close the players on the edge of the box. Don't tell me we don't have the players of quality to do that, it's basics and any half decent footballer can do it. That is all on Frank.
This is the thing, I don't think our squad is that bad that we can't play football, but there are teams with lesser squads that can press the bloody ball. Pressing is a manager thing. They are the ones that drive it. We don't press anywhere enough. We just run to get back behind the ball and try to make it hard to pass or shoot... Which doesn't seem to be working

14th wasn’t acceptable in the 90s. It sure as fudge isn’t acceptable now. Top half is bare minimum.

To be fair, we’re not far away points wise but I’m struggling to see us getting there looking at our performances.

I think we were unlucky today second half we deserved at least a point if not more. And Sunday I think we deserved the win. You have to hope as we get players like Solanke back and Xavi, Odobert and Tel start to play more regularly together we can turn some of these matches in our favour. But yeah not good at the moment.

Conte got us 4th and was in 4th place again when he got sacked. Ange got us 5th and then a Europa win…. This is a whole new special kind of brick.

We pressed in the first 15 minutes today and it was quite effective.

Or maybe the coaching us brick?

Brentford didn't look a poorly coached team under him to me.

People can talk about club size & ambition and whatever else as to why it isn't comparable to a club like Spurs but coaching is coaching, tactics are tactics and if he can get his ideas across at another PL club and if those players can perform to a good level then im looking at what the variable is - and that's the players

We’ve picked up the 11th most PL points stretching back over a 125 match period, I think we simply have to accept that we’re a bottom half club again and hope that when Solanke, Kulusevski and Maddison finally return their lengthy injury lay-offs haven’t shorn them of what made them such special players and in the meantime hope that Muani and Simons discover their mojo and make us forget about Kane & Son…

Seeing lots of people on Twitter/X saying VDV, Porro and a few others went over to the fans and started shouting at them after the match, not a good look if true…

I think the fans are clams generally.

I don't have an issue with players giving back, I quite enjoy it.

But VDV was a fudging disgrace tonight, Porro wasn't much better, easy to act tough after the game when you've been an absolute pussy in it.

Looks like they went over to clap the fans, and some mouthy tacos were having a go.

I truly believe that it doesn`t matter who coaches us until we change our recruitment policy and stop buying or loaning cast offs from europes big clubs we will be the same old same old. Does anyone actually think Bayern would have let Tel go if anyone there thought he would turn into a top player. And its ok to take a punt on young players from lower leagues but the only one recently I think looks like they could be a regular first team starter is Archie Gray all the rest look average at best

The regression has been happening season after season since Poch left. Kane and & Son covered over the cracks but slowly but surely our truth has been revealed.

We are pish and pish without even a standout player.
