OMT Mighty Spurs vs Hungry Wolves

We can't comment on a guy who hasn't played more than 5 minutes for us. Solanke agree, of course he's a miss physically and Wolves have been impressive physically.

But I don't see our football changing, it is going to be fairly one dimensional and if the set pieces aren't working and/or a Kudus off day it's not going to be pretty....
Brentford were not one dimensional in terms of attacking in the championship. It's only when they came up to the PL and pragmatic Frank did what was necessary to stay up. We are also missing the guile of maddison and directness of Deki. So I think we need to hold off judging just yet.

Scrappy half suited them down to the ground. Fine first half, we were much the better side and a touch and fingertip away from scoring. Frank got it wrong for me second half. We needed to work the ball more in the middle. Paulinha off and Gray on with Bentancur might have helped.

Guess Wolves didn't play midweek, and we looked tired after 50-60mins. Terrible second half. Woeful. Lost.

At no point today have we attempted to play through the centre. Lots of attempts at width that just never really amounted to much.

It's almost cliche from me but I've been saying it for 2 years we DO NOT have quality in attack. This summer we added Kudus who absolutely is quality but we are still playing the same options up front and a shoehorned in Xavi on the left.

This is not a top 4 quality attack no matter how much our fans want to deluded themselves. It wasn't last season and it still isn't this year.
I think today is much more simple. We looked good first half and should have scored from one of our chances. Wolves changed it second half and turned up the physicality and we couldn't cope.

Will this 2nd half end the discussion of Johnson being especially poor and unsuited to the left? He's especially poor and also unsuited to the right hand side. 🤣

As painful as it is I sort of see a positive to games like these. They kill the ideas that players like Richy and Johnson are good enough. Also the idea that Xavi is a good LW option (he's not). Take the pain now and hopefully approach the window very proactively, because we need to add the quality that we are desperately needing in the forward position.
