OMT: Manure vs Mighty Spurs

UNITED TO PLAY BACK THREE?

The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Mourinho is set to play a back three tonight with Nemanja Matic dropping into defence alongside Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof, with Eric Bailly absent.

Gary Neville told Sky Sports: “In pre-season he played three at the back a couple of times, and we had an argument last week about sticking to what you do. Jose Mourinho has never really played three at the back, relentlessly. I look at the back line, and I don’t think there’s a back four you can trust.

"I think Lukaku and Sanchez both want to play up top, so three at the back might suit them. It would Pogba that free role in midfield, knowing he’s got the two left in midfield. The whole squad shape at the moment means he may go 3-5-2 purely based on elimination.”

Hopefully, they haven't practised it much.

3 at the back would actually suit them a lot more than 4 at the back. Pogba is a liability in a 2 man CM as he showed against us last year, and it solves the problem of how to get all of Lukaka, Pogba and Sanchez into central roles. It also suits Young and Valencia better too. That said, it still doesnt mean they have a decent CB!! And playing Matic there really is odd....

Mourinho tried it a few times towards the end of his second spell at Chelsea but I can't remember him playing it anywhere else.

I think 'others' at united think Martial is decent and are thinking along the same lines.

I'd love him. (Martial that is :))

As for the lease...it was probably up for renewal so obviously renewed, 5k a month when you're on 100k a week...loose change.
Slightly off topic but I was looking at leasing a car again but opted to buy, anyway the guy I was speaking to said that the VIP deals were for rich people only like footballers, and that he had one prem footballer who took out a 12 month Merc deal. My question is why do they lease cars when they could buy it in less than a weeks wages??

Easier? All servicing etc covered, and when you move on to France/Spain/Italy at short notice you just give it back.

Interesting line up considering Rose and Toby were gone.

Glad Rose is given the chance Davies as looked poor so far and Sanchez looks a bit meh as well.

Argue that is our strongest side minus Son for Lucas

It is odd that Poch has selected two players who were 'gone' and 'never going to play for us again'. I guess we play with nine players today...
