*** OMT FA Cup Round 3 - Tottenham Hotspur FC v Burnley ***

Thought it showed some good trust for Ange to give Donley, Scarlett and Sessegnon 10+minutes (including extra time) with the game very much in the balance.

Perhaps he had to make those changes because of tiredness and a lack of options meant he had to go for those subs. But he could have put on VDV, gone three at the back. Probably could have left one or two of those coming off late in the game on for the rest of the game.

Nice to see the youngsters and Sess coming back from a long period injured getting minutes when it mattered and not just along in case we went 3-0 up.

Or you play werner on the left with son in the middle.

Take a look at this side

------------ Vicario --------------
Porro - Romero - VDV - Udogie
Sarr ----- Bentancur -- Maddison
Johnson ----- Son ------ Werner

Exceptional pace in front line plus Porro, Udogie & VDV with a very strong midfield, could see the logic

He (Skipp) just doesn’t really excel at anything. He doesn’t dominate the midfield or create much or offer that much protection to the back four.

He's a decent player but we often overestimate players for emotional reasons (with Skipp it's his homegrown)

Reality is if you watch his best games against an average game from Bentancur & Sarr, there is a huge gap. Similar to people defending Dier when Royal who has never played CB in his career is arguably doing a better job there than Dier has done in 3 years (yes, I get system suits).

If Spurs wants to be better, Skipp is very unlikely to be part of it, and I expect the next incoming CM (e.g. Gallagher noise) is a direct upgrade on him/PEH.

I guess it's more a theoretical "look at the sheer pace of our front line" kind of suggestion?

Think we really need Kulusevski in there though. Ball retention, creativity, doing useful stuff when facing the wrong way.

But the addition of Werner adds a really useful option even though the one vs one specialist is still missing.
