Luka Vuskovic

He's exciting. It's pre season. So there's probably room for cautious but strong optimism.

I wonder if his eye for goal would make him a better DM in the longer term. I know is fans say this alot with young CBs but it's just a thought.

Also is he quick?

No, he's not quick. probably the only attribute he's missing
There's was an interview recently where he was talking about working on all aspects of his game and how he was working with a sprint coach or something to try and improve that area of his game. Seems like a really smart kid. I hope he makes it with us, although I do think another loan at a good level might be best this season.

Where though? He can't go to another EPL club, so somewhere like Leverkusen or Dortmund are the only moves he'd likely get sufficient development from.

He just seems the perfect profile for our 4th CB, at least until Dragusin returns and we can then review the two of them in comparison.

There is a Belgium Tottenham fan on another page who said he watched him closely last season, apparently he is not the greatest at defending. The guy went on to say he wasn’t even in the top 10 CB’s in the league last season.

I very much doubt he will be playing much first team football next season. A loan to the Championship maybe.

Didn't they put up his stats from last season, basically lead defensive actions, headers in both boxes and clearances. I get there is an eye test but for a 17 year old, there is clearly a very good player in there.

Can we not enjoy some optimism without people wanting to constantly burn down the house

The Championship is a lower standard than Belgium, it would be a backwards move.

I have no idea how ready or good he really is for this level. But just because of one Belgian Spurs fan opinion doesn't really mean anything either way - as if posters on here always get it right about players in the PL because they are Spurs fans in this country?

Those at the club will best know what to do with this player either way whether it be keep him here or loan him out....

Good that he is identifying what he needs to work on. Sprint coach may help improve his speed but he's never going to be fast if he doesn't have some natural ability. Hopefully his reading of the game gives him a couple of yards head start.

On those rankings why the hell are we allowing Dorrington to go back to Scotland?

Is it because there is an analysis behind the analysis?

Alfie needs to eventually be ready for the top end of the PL, not La Liga or Serie A. The SPL could be one of the leagues below the PL in that table that is best matched for our English football. It could be matched to the areas of the game that we want Alfie to be really good at eventually. As an example, in some of those other leagues I'm sure you become a great "box" defender. I wouldn't mind betting that in the SPL, it's goes with the territory. We know Alfie is very good on the ball and has some really good technical qualities. It's the same question as with Vuskovic and Phillips. It's about whether they can first and foremost defend at the highest level.

Alfie was of course very unlucky. He was part of our amazing U21 side as an 18 year old and was elevated into Ange's squad for a short while. I'm certain he would have been tagged for a full season loan in 24/25. Instead he picked up that bad injury at the end of the 23/24 season and had to wait until last January to get playing in a 1st team setup.

No one is trying to burn down the house, they are trying to keep everyone's feet on the floor because we do this every season and the player ends up not reaching those levels. We have people claiming he is going to be world class ffs.

People can be excited whilst knowing there is no full gone conclusions

This clubs and the worlds miserable enough without some optimism about it.

Here's ti him being world class and the world not ending if he ain't
